Gordon Ramsey at the London lately?
Being HUGE fans of Hell's Kitchen, my husband and I stayed at The London (Los Angeles) this past weekend. We had afternoon Tea, Dinner and Sunday Brunch. We had the 7 course dinner with the Grand Pairing (different wine pairing for each course) and found that it wasn't as good as the 7 course at Gordon Ramsey in NYC. Not to say that the food wasn't good, but it just wasn't as inspiring as the NYC location, plus, no Chocolate Trolley after dinner!
We asked the staff about the Hells Kitchen winner, Christina Machamer. They said that she worked there for about 2 weeks and then got let go because it wasn't working out.
It is a fabulous place to visit, though, the rooftop pool is a great place to enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail. The dinner was good, and I would recommend it to all foodies!
My Upcoming Las Vegas Vacation
It looks like this is an old thread, but maybe it's time for LongIslandChef to return to Vegas! But this is awesome, since my husband and I are going to LV next week and I need some ideas. My husband and I are great appreciators of awesome food. Here's where we've been in the past and I recommend:
Bouchon- awesome breakfast
Wynn Buffet - you have to eat breakfast here, it is the biggest selection of really great -tasting food I've ever seen in a buffet in my life! And, I hate buffets!
Tao-really inspired food, great ambiance and it didn't hurt that David Spade stopped by our table. We were a little starstruck.
Lavo- mouthwatering, great service.
Bartolotta- if you like fresh seafood, this is the place.
I don't recommend:
Dos Caminos-we got a hotel credit to use here, food was so-so.
Please give us your opinions on where we should eat for dinner next week!
Best Breakfast in Orange County.
I adore the Ramos House. It's just a little bit expensive, though. There just aren't enough places for a reasonable priced great breakfast in Orange County.
Croissant in Orange County
I recommend French's Bakery, they have a couple locations: Costa Mesa, Irvine, Mission Viejo and Orange. http://frenchspastry.com/ My favorite there is the Wagon Wheel Pastry, but their croissants are great too!

breakfast/brunch in Orange County
I guess this thread is a little old, but thought that it might be helpful for people still looking for vegetarian food. Native Foods in Costa Mesa and Aliso Viejo serve a great lunch and dinner. They have something for everyone, including people who are not vegetarians. My kids love it!
Great breakfast in Orange County?
For next time, one of the best places for breakfast in OC is at Las Brisas. This is a fabulous place to take people visiting from out of the area. The food tastes ok, but the view is incomparable! Other great places in Laguna are at C'est La Vie (outside dining veranda), Madison Square (you can bring your dog with you if you want) and also Coyote Grill (awesome bloody mary's). One of my old favorites, The White House, lost its lustre for me when I discovered egg shell in my Eggs Benedict.

The Ramos house is amazing. The food is inspired, the location is charming and they have blankets for you if the weather is chilly. The prices are a little high, so I just wanted to set expectations. Definitely worth a visit.
