Kosher Prepared Foods Delivered in NYC

On a nice day, take a walk over to Beth Israel Hospital, Kosher Cafeteria open to all - fairly reasonable. Also, I believe the Center for Jjewish History has a cafe at 15 West 16th between 5th & 6th. also Kosher. Get out, smell the fresh air and enjoy.

Diamond Dairy NYC

Sadly, this diamond of a restaurant recenntly closed after 60 years. It will be sorely missed by those who enjoyed homemade delicious (hungarian) food in a very unpretensious setting.
I guess its just a sign of the times.

Hip and delicious kosher?! In Miami/South Beach.

In south beach, I believe on 5th street try Pita Loco, don't expect ambiance, but standing in the street can be fun. Excellent food, certified Kosher. an experience not to be missed. Tasti D on Royal Palm Ave, right off Art Godfrey Rd is great from lunch - salads, shakes, cafe. Enjoy, enjoy !

Kosher Wine on Ship

So in the end it all worked out, RCL did indeed carry two Baron Herzog wine ( Jay Buchsbaum will be glad to hear that), and each night we had a glass of wine with dinner. They couldn't have been more cooperative ( after they tormented me with misinformation). So go on a cruise - order Kosher food - Webermans from Miami, enjoy yourselves. We certainly did.

Kosher food on a cruise

Having just returned Sunday from a 10 day cruise on Royal Caribbean, Ill give some pointers.
You dont have a say in the brand name supplying the food, we had Webberman from Florida - they're the best. When selecting your meals from the (somewhat available) list, you may want to order two meals for dinner as one meals sometimes fills only one cavity - or you may want to order some steamed vegtables (which they wrap in foil) or a baked potato as a supplement - or all of these. Fish is available dialy, also foil wrapped. Also, I dont know where you're holding - fresh (cut) fruit, salad bar, nothing to exotic. On a previous cruise we had waffles, they made them fresh, the mix carried a reliable hashgacha as did the non stick spray. We also had a glass of wine each nite -after buying a bottle on board(Baron Herzog @$42,) and they held it and served it nightly. We checked the ice cream, a big ou on the container (hense the 3 lbs I gained). We did have a problem as we couldnt find a paper bowl on board so the boxed cheerios had to be eaten dry, my wife ate oatmel (Quaker) (maybe that wasn't such a good idea) in a paper plate. The biggest problem you're going to have is the automatic door locks on Shabbos, and you'll just have to be creative. And if you're very machmer, you may have a problem with the urinals in the public mens rooms. Hope this helps you and everyone else. Bon Voyage !

Atlantic City and Kosher Restaurants

Only two restaurants, both expensive, obviously both good food wise.
Chabad - http://www.chabadac.com/templates/art... lists only Jerusalem under OK. A call to the Trocki Hebrew Academy which is right accross the street 609) 383-8484 should get you an answer.

Kosher Wine on Ship

Thanks for those who replied, with possibly the exception of uropsych. It is indeed true that Kosher wine is available on Celebrity (their sister company) Royal Caribbean does not offer that opportunity - not even with a corkage fee. I've spoke to company execs and they said possibly in the future, but certainly not at this time.

Kosher Wine on Ship

We're sailing January 23 from Bayonne, I just learned that the ship (Royal Caribbean Line) doesn't carry Kosher wine on board, unlike Celebrity, Holland America & Costa. They also told me that I was prohibited to bring my own wine on board.

So those thinking about sailing - beware !

Food, they serve Webermans frozen, B"H.

Park Place Highland Park NJ

Upon hearing that this new place has great food at fairly reasonable prices, despite bad service we were looking forward to try it. We immediately found a table for the 6 of us, so we were on our way.

So I will start with the service - There is none - all self service, cafeteria/buffet style - but you don't help yourself you have to order. So upon asking how long the wait was for an order we were told ONE HOUR. There was no way we were waiting one hour especially with other restaurants in town. We - the six of us went up the block to Shushan Grill and we were done eating a delicious meal in an hour.

So, I can't tell you about the food at Park Place. That will have to wait. Perhaps during the first snow storm they will get their act together - if they're not out of business by then.

Smokey Joes in Teaneck

I hear you. That kind of treatment is not tolerable. If and when you do go back, and you should - during your meal you should call him over and call the incident to his attention - you'd be remiss not to. As far as our reservations, there was a party with 'nudgie' kids, the poor children were hungry and cranky too. So we accommodated. No one wants to listen to kids screaming.

Tonight we're off to Highland Park.

Smokey Joes in Teaneck

We too were at the restaurant last night (Sunday) as a party of six. As expected it was crowded B"H, and while we had reservations we did have to wait. I'm a regular restaurant frequenter - this week alone it was three. (Four of us don't live anywhere near Bergen County). Over the years you can write books about restaurants, their service, food, atmosphere and even their rest rooms. The proprietor Smokey Joe went out of his way, over and above the norm to make us feel comfortable and welcome with some appetizers. The service was good - the food was good, only one 'wish I ordered something else'. This guy will make it bacause he truly knows how to treat people. Kol H'Kovod. There will always be unhappy people, some justified and some not. I'm sure if you went in during the week you can have any table you wanted and be seated immediately. Be thankful you have such a wonderful, certainly change of pace - clean and good food with reasonable prices right in your backyard. Ata boy Joe ! .
