EASTER BRUNCH SUGGESTIONS - SE CT

Heirloom in The Study Hotel in New Haven is great.

Sugar & Olives, Norwalk, CT. Anyone?

Is it worth it? Did anyone answer?

Jog your memory - Pesto Change-O Pizza at Sunrise Pizza Cafe in Fairfield Cty

Wasn't there fresh mozzarella on that pie? Or could it have been ricotta AND mozz?

special lunch in New Haven on a Wednesday?

I second Heirloom.

Looking for restaurant ideas

There's a terrific Mexican place in Stonington, right on the main street in the village. Sadly, I can't remember the name...

Great crust at Pizzaria Rosso—Norwalk

Just had our second round of pizzas from this new place (in the unlikely location just over the railroad tracks from Dunkin' Donuts and tucked in behind a cut-rate furniture store). They use great ingredients and the pizza is delicious but MAN! The crust is so good I found myself, both times, eating that first.

SoNo Restaurant Week (Again)! - Oct. 3-8

I actually noticed a web ad for it (too late to click on it), did a google search and this was the first link that came up. Thanks for including the info about ctbites.com.

Savin Rock Roasters? Was Harborside in Stratford, CT

Yeah, when did that happen? I live around the corner...

Where to find whole wheat pancakes in Fairfield County with Real Maple Syrup

I'm not sure if they have whole wheat pancakes but the PRD in Norwalk serves buckwheat pancakes and, though you have to ask for it and pay extra, they do have real maple syrup.

New Canaan Diner

Went tonight after a matinee and the joint was jumpin'!
PRD is one of my favorite places and was glad to see that many of my favorites are on this menu, too—the souvlakis, the moussaka, the Buffalo chicken salad. We sat at the counter and a couple next to us ordered a chili dog—which I've somehow never had. Next time, for sure, though I was more than happy with my chopped salad (another fave).
New Canaan is lucky to have this place.

Source for Black Truffle Oil in Fairfield County?

I bought white truffle oil at A&S Fine Foods in Norwalk (New Canaan Ave./Rte. 123); you might want to call them to see if they have black truffle oil.

Double-checking Nigella Lawson clementine cake recipe

I make this cake frequently and use 2 1/3 cups to 2 1/2 cups of ground almonds. It's a very forgiving recipe and versatile—I've made it with apples, pears, lemons...

International Farmers Market- Bridgeport, CT

Where in Bridgeport is it?

Best restuarant in Mystic/New London

Captain Packer Inn is quaint and cozy; can't speak to the food, however.

Best Pasta Dish Fairfield County but not too expensive

While I certainly enjoy Uncle Joe's, I think the owners are actually Greek. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Looking for nice dinner spot in Keene, NH

Luca's is one of my favorite places in Keene (which I visit often). There's also Michele's, which is also on Main Street—Italian influenced "California" cuisine, which is very good.
Check out The Works for baked goods, Prime Roast for coffee, and Bad Dawgs if you want a hot dog for some reason. Oh, and there's a taco joint (not the Mexican restaurant) on Main Street that's pretty good. And Timoleon's for breakfast, if you want to stay in town. For a "higher end" lunch, check out the Stage.
There are also two candy stores that are worth a visit—Ye Olde Goodie Shoppe at the Colony Mill and Life is Sweet on Main St.

Norwalk's Oyster Fest >Which food tents do you

I haven't been to the OF for years...isn't it supposed to rain this weekend? That's kind of a shame.

Worst restaurant experience ever!!

Was the waiter a kind of spacey dude type? We had him when we went and I have to say, I wasn't impressed with the food or the service—they were out of half the wines on their by the glass list (which the waiter "didn't know" until we had gone through all of those options), my entree was remarkably bland and the salad I ordered was just okay.

Ted's, Meriden, CT

Went there today for the first time—great cheeseburgers, and the double hot cheese (that's it, just melted cheese slathered onto a bun) was delicious. Not crazy about the home fries, but, hey, the burgers were enough.

Great new take-out in Hancock, ME

And my favorite garden center is right across the street!

Italian Specialties Store Near Wilton, CT?

A&S Fine Foods on New Canaan Avenue (Rte. 123) in Norwalk is fine.

Rachael Ray parody—anyone seen it?

USA Today ran a blurb about this: www.everyfreakingday.com.

Falafel update ?

There's a new-ish falafel place on Route 1/Westport Avenue in Norwalk, across from the old no-tell motel that's been refurbished. It's in that weird section that has a car dealership on one side and a Taco Bell on the other. Haven't tried it, but intend to.

Great food in Norwalk CT

Where is it?

Saturday reunion lunch in Norwalk?

A friend just called to say she's in town, wants to go out for lunch tomorrow. Should be a place where we can linger. I'm drawing a complete blank.

Top 5 Cheap Eats in Fairfield County?

Venezuelan Beach Food (arepas and a whole lot of other stuff)—Norwalk (near the Lime).

New "roadside cafe" in Norwalk

Noticed a truck parked on an empty lot just east of Penzey's (on the same side) and wondered if any Chowhounds have tried it.

ThaiSpice in Norwalk

Where is it in Norwalk?

Just Moved here from the south?

There's a good Asian market on Rte. 123 in Norwalk (coming from Wilton, get on the Rte. 7 Connector, take it to the Merritt Parkway, get off the Merritt at the first exit -- Rte. 123, turn right and go through two lights, the Asian market is on the right shortly after that). The best Latin market I've found is also in Norwalk on Main Street (get on the Rte. 7 Connector again, take it to the third exit, turn right off the exit, then right again at the first light. There will be two traffic lights almost right away; at the second one, bear to the right--there's a large shopping center that will be on your left. Two more lights, you'll see the Norwalk Library and just ahead on the left is the market which I think is called the Community Market. It's not elegant looking, but the people who run it are great.)
Farmer's Markets open in late April, early May. The best one's are in New Canaan on Saturday mornings, Darien on Wednesdays from about 10 to 6. I think Wilton doesn't have one.
And I know a great hairstylist in Wilton. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Dinner in Nyack

I've heard amazing things about Restaurant X, and I do plan to go there. But I went to the Hudson House for brunch today and it was really good (especially the desserts, like Deven Black said); this was a return visit after a couple of dinners there that were wonderful.
