Joe's Crab Shack ~ Eatontown
I'm definitely not a restaurant snob and have eaten at most chain restaurants out there, but the Joe's Crab Shack in Lawrenceville is pretty awful. It's worst than most chains, just crap food, annoying servers, and...bleh. I actually would agree that it's better than Red Lobster, but since Red Lobster is down at the bottom of the barrel that's faint praise. You can find some decent meals at most chain places, but I'm not sure how anyone does so at Joe's or RL. But hey, to each his own.
Heading to Blue Bottle Cafe - What to get?
Tom, it's funny, my wife and I were at the Blue Bottle about three weeks ago and had virtually the same dinner. The mussels, the wild boar ragout. Both were excellent. This really is a great place. The hostess is nasty, but once you get seated you're in a good shape. We had read all the great reviews and Blue Bottle lived up to them.

Top Dog Cherry Hill
Sorry I didn't see your post before. I won't comment on the overall scumminess of Top Dog, but for anyone who goes in the future, just eat as little as possible. Not a place for food, that's for sure.
ITALIAN BYOB PHILLY SUBURBS
I know I'm waking up a very old thread here, but I have to say, anyone in the area should get to Sapori and try the wild boar special. Simply amazing. My wife and I have been there a half-dozen times and the food is always great. There are several great restaurants in Collingswood but Sapori is excellent.
Looking for mom and pop type Italian restaurants in South Jersey
I'd give the thumbs up to Sal and Joe's as well...definitely fits the bill as a "Mom and Pop" place with very good Italian food for the price.
Homemade Rippers...
I know, love the "Joisey", like anyone from the state would say that.
Sorry, got a bit riled up. I'm heading out for a ripper right now. Everyone who is hungry is free to join me.
Seaside Heights - anything worth eating?
Kohr's is still great by the way....who doesn't want some soft serve on a pleasant summer evening?
Any decent pizza around Cherry Hill?
Was Sal and Joe's in Moorestown one of the "crappy" places you tried? If not, give it a shot because it's our favorite. If you're looking for thin crust, though, it's not. Probably the best mushroom pie I've ever had...sausage is good, though I am curious about King of Pizza now.
Philly CHs -- NJ Opinions? - moved from Pennsylvania board
Fact...there are a dozen places as good as Catelli. Fact: There were a dozen people dining there on Friday night, so word is out that you can do better.
Ice cream spot in Cherry Hill or Moorestown areas?
Nothing wrong with a Chik-fil-A milkshake!
New stomping ground - Mount Laurel. Gimme some eats!
Yes, that was four years old, so a new thread seems acceptable.
New stomping ground - Mount Laurel. Gimme some eats!
I live in Mount Laurel too...I want to agree with a couple of the stay-aways in the post above---Pizzitullo's is pretty bad, and Taconelli's is overrated. I don't think Little Beef's pizza is that great but their sandwiches are good. For pizza and pretty much anything on their menu, I like Sal and Joe's on Kings Highway in Maple Shade, but there were a lot of other good pizza places mentioned in this thread too. Angelo's on Union Mill Road has great calzones and stromboli and good pizza. For a bit finer dining, Collingswood has several excellent restaurants, but such as Blackbird and Sapori, among others. There are a lot of good places within a 20-minute drive (depending where you are in Mount Laurel of course).
Cheap Italian in Lawrenceville/Princeton??
Sorry for my delay in commenting, but we tried Enzo's on Mother's Day and the food was excellent. Highly recommended as a great value at a reasonable price.
Best Ice's and Ice Cream in Middlesex and Monmouth Counties
I will also go with the Beach Plum....I'm ready for summer, let's go! :-)
Atlantic City - The BEST Steakhouse
Yes, I think the complaints about "club kids" and smoke are more cliches and not from people who have actually dined at the Borgata. We all know the drawbacks of casinos---overpriced for one---but you can definitely get a good meal at the Borgata.
Atlantic City - The BEST Steakhouse
Well, we are talking about Atlantic City here, which is mainly known for...casinos. So, I don't understand why that's a big deal. Still, best of luck to you.
Atlantic City - The BEST Steakhouse
Since others have gone into detail, my short answer would be that Knife and Fork may provide the best MEAL, but for best STEAK if cost is no object, then I'd go Morton's or Old Homestead.
Great meal at Kitchen 233
I ate at Kitchen 233 once last year, thought it was pretty good, nothing remarkable but not terrible.
It's classy how the guy can't just review the restaurant but has to get his shot in at people who live in the area---no class, no brains. Makes me not want to care much about the restaurant review either.
