Favorite Bottled Root Beer

NYC Foodie in SFO looking for dessert - baked goods, ice cream, etc. recommendations

I'm visiting NYC this weekend and would love any recommendations on some treats. I've heard of Bi Rite ice cream and am going to make it there. I discovered a wheat germ chocolate chip cookie yesterday near my hotel so I'm off to a good start.

I would love to hear any recommendations for amazing sweet treats while I'm hear. Also, any other recomendations would be welcome if you think I shouldn't leave without eating somewhere, feel free. I ate at Starbelly last night and loved it!

I'll be going to the farmer's market tomorrow morning any any specific recomendations would helpful.

Also, if there are any foodie tour blogs out there that you know of where someone has visited San Francisco and just went around eating, feel free to share it with me. Someone did that in NYC a while back and thought I wish I had something like that for every city I visit.

Great Dessert to Bring to Thanksgiving other than Pumpkin or Apple Pie

I like to wow my hosts with something that is great, but doesn't duplicate something that another guest could easily bring. I used to bring the Sour Cream Apple Walnut Pie from the Little Pie Company. Unfortunately for me, someone lives on the block and brings that pie.

Does anyone have any suggestions of a great dessert to bring? Thanks!

Newport, RI - Any great stops for gourmet food or dessert

I'm taking a weekend trip up to Newport, RI and unfortunately I haven't had a chance to do any research on those one of a kind stores I should stop at while I'm up there. I have the guide books, but would like insider advice. If anyone has any recommendations for restaurants, candy shops, or any other must eats, please let me know.

Monoprix - Sauternes and Fruit Schnapps

I found a very inexpensive bottle of Monoprix Sauternes today and wanted to know if anyone has tried it.

Also, when I was in Austria they had fruit schnapps made from ream fruit. Does anyone know if they sell this in Paris at Monoprix or elsewhere and what it migh be called? Thank you.
