airport diner in astoria

This is also the Diner that was used in a few scenes in Goodfellas

215 Cucina Napoletana

I went there a few months ago with a group of friends and to say the least, I was extremely disappointed. The decor hasn't been updated in 40 years, which isn't always a bad thing, but I felt like I was in my grandparents basement in the 70's. I made a huge mistake in ordering the swordfish and it came out over cooked and dry like a piece of wood. All in all maybe we had a bad experience, but nobody in my group of about 12 left the place satisfied with the meal. I was surprised considering the place has been there so long.

Stuffed Zucchini Flowers, Fiori di Zucca, Frittelli

Areo in Bay Ridge has them as a special when they are in season. They are a reason to go eat there alone.

Best fried clams, lobster, chowder in long island?

I was out in Pt Jeff a few weeks ago and they had Ipswich clams on the menu at the Steam Room right across from the ferry. The place can be hit or miss IMO, but on thie day I went the clams were really good.

Long Island is a big place. Specifically where are you looking?

Brooklyn Lobster Roll Rec's?

I did the Fairway lobster roll today for lunch with my wife and it was really good. After lunch we walked over to Steve's Key Lime Pie for a little dessert. The sun was finally shining and the baby slept the whole time. Great day!

Best Brooklyn Flagel

My wife loves her Flagels as well. There is a bagel shop in Dyker called D'Netto's on 13th Ave and 84th St that has them. No sunflower seeds, but the have a few different types.

Help With A Venue On Long Island

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I think I have some leg work to check out some new ideas.

Help With A Venue On Long Island

Anyone?

Help With A Venue On Long Island

Hello everyone, I was hoping for a little help. I am throwing a surprise 60th for my mother in June and I am looking for a venue for brunch/lunch for about 30 people in Nassau. I priced out the Carlton at Eisenhower and they were a little pricey. I was also considering Jonathan's, but I have never been a big fan of the place. So... can anyone recommend a restaurant that would be a good fit. Thanks!!

HELP for a Brookyln Lunch Saturday!!

Hello everyone. I am looking for a little help for a place to eat a good lunch today Saturday in Brooklyn. My wife is having her baby shower and I just found out my father and father in law apparently want me to entertain them. I am open for all suggestions and hopefully the place would be ok with us hanging around and taking our time during the lunch. Thanks!!!

la nonna bella restaurant in garden city ny

So let's get this straight. This is your first post , your name is bellabella and coincidently the restaurant is named la nonna bella. Plus you know the names of chefs and you have nothing but high praises to sing about this place... sounds a little fishy.

Wedding reception for 100

Maybe you should look at Bubby's in DUMBO. It is a little on the casual side, but at the same time it's in a great location for ambiance and pictures. Food is good and it's a good time there.

Peter Luger-Great Neck

While I don't mind Major's for a decent steak and fantastic pineapple vodka, saying that they are better than Luger's is absurd. That's like saying Toyota's are better than Bently's because I like they way my Toyota drives much better.

And no this isn't anger speaking...this is reality.

Help. Mezcal's on Fifth.

Corona... and lots of it.

Piccola Venezia, L'Incontro, Manducatis, or Manetta?

Personally I am not a big fan of L'Incontro. Just because your waiter can rattle off 40 specials, doesn't mean that the food is good. I am of the belief that less is more when it comes to a menu. Stick with Piccola.

Sripraphai is opening a second branch in Williston Park

That's pretty cool. My wife dragged me from LI to Brooklyn when we got married and she always throws there are no good restaurants in LI in my face. At least we have Sri out there, one of our favorite spots.

Atomic Smith St.

Is it just me or does anyone else have a problem going for wings at a chain store??? When I think wings I think local neighborhood bars, watching a game and drinking pitchers of beer.

New Portuguese place in Bay Ridge

I didn't notice the Super Bock Dark, but they definately had Super Bock and Sagres when I went. On top of that the food was great and the owners were really nice. I am looking forward to going back really soon.
