Hello Chow Folks! I am looking for advanced/professional Italian classes in NYC...I checked with FCI, their Italian classes are either a full culinary program or very basic, I am looking for something in between. Thanks!

Does anyone know where I can purchase a pie crust bag in NYC?

Parchment paper is awesome, less sticking. Agreed on the useless gadget of the bag. Happy Pie baking this summer!

Monkey Bar

Hello, I went last night, old school atmosphere and great service, the food - not so much. It wasn't awful but not fabulous. I had the scallops with creamed corn and it was tasty but not over the top. My fellow diners agreed on their dishes as well.

Natural Gourmet School - thoughts?

Hello, I am a graduate of the Natural Gourmet Chef Training Program...I highly recommend the school for both professional and recreational classes. You should definitely give their Friday Night Dinner a try, very reasonable and quite delicious for vegetarian and carnivores alike, you will be pleasantly surprised. Good luck!!

Wonderful Lebanese in Forest Hills- Please Support Wafa's!

I just had lunch here with 2 friends and we all loved it. The food was simply delicious. We had a little tasting of hummus, okra, eggplant salad, 2 different type of wheat salads, stuffed grape leaves, spinach pie and falafel -- everything was perfectly seasoned and very fresh. The desserts were also outstanding. Just as charming was the cook and hostess herself Ms. Wafa. I highly recommend this place -- you won't be disappointed.

Basic and healthy / organic dinner recommendations

have you considered the Natural Gourmet? Granted the atmosphere is not fancy, but it is quite charming...the ingredients are top quality and since it is the student's final project, they put a great effort into the meal.

Mexican Cookbooks

thank you all for your input, i have two books by bayliss which I love but was looking to add to the collection with a text if you will...I think I will splurge and buy both, it sounds like I can't go wrong :)))

Mexican Cookbooks

I'm having a hard time deciding between Rick Bayliss "Authentic Mexican" and Diana Kennedy "The Art of Mexican Cooking"...they have both received excellent reviews. I don't mind labor intensive recipes but would like a book with a good mix of authentic and some simple dishes to do. Thanks for the input!
