Ten-year anniversary. $500 to spend on one dinner. Hit me with recommendations

You could spend that on wine alone. What is your budget for food? Does this 500 include tax and tip?

Birthday Dinner - French Food

You want specifics, ok. As a long time patron here goes: Henry's End. Food portions getting smaller. Overly spiced, to hide reheating of leftover food? Ice cold side dishes of vegetables. Dirty bathrooms and ceilings.

Noodle Pudding mostly inexpensive pastas that can be made at home for less money and taste like they came from a can.

Le Petite Marche, I want to like it. have tried four times. Wait staff has gotten order wrong every time. Wines on wine list never available when they are reasonably priced. Food not special.

Birthday dinner in Brooklyn

"The food isn't so good at River Cafe"? I beg to differ with you. There is NO comparison between the excellent haute cuisine at River Cafe and the cooking at Henry's End. As a matter of fact just recently Henry's End has taken a very bad turn for the worse. Food portions have gotten miniscule while the cooking standards are falling on very bad times. Salt and other spices are overly abundant I suspect to hide old food being heated up from previous nights. After being a long time patron since this place opened I am now shifting to "Jack the Horse" around the corner. Henry's End is coming to an end!

VALENTINE'S DAY IN BROOKLYN: WHERE TO DINE?

Valentine's day and other holidays are the worst rip-offs of the year. Restaurant week should be included. Portions are small and prices are doubled and tripled. In economic bad times a present to all of us might be to dispense of this nonsense.

wedding at Grand Prospect Hall

You don't mention a budget at all. I certainly am sure that there is a big price difference between Grand Prospect Hall and the River Cafe . I have eaten at the River Cafe many times. The Prixe Fixe is around 100 now and of course adding tax and liquor it can run about 170 a person. I can only assume a wedding runs around 250 to 300 a person. What is your budget.

Birthday Dinner - French Food

Henry's end is American food and also not too festive as it small and noisy. The food is good. Le Petit Marche has awful food and a dreadful atmosphere. Noodle Pudding is Italian and disgusting. Actually there are no really good French restaurants in Brooklyn. Sorry. Come into downtown Manhattan. For inexpensive and festive with wonderful service try Bistro Les Amis, Chez Jacqueline.

Catered meal in Las Vegas for Passover

I am visiting my son for Pesach. I do not want to do cooking, my daughter-in-law is not Jewish. Last year you could order a catered meal in Henderson. I can't find any information for this year. Can anyone help. Thanks.

I hope this is the right board to post on Las Vegas Seder catering [Moved from Home Cooking]

Does anyone know a way to get out of cooking most of the Passover seder meal in Las Vegas other than eating out? Last year there was a place in Henderson that catered and delivered this year I can't find them. I will be out there from New York and really don't want to spend a day or two cooking but I don't want to eat at a local shul either. Thanks.

The only way to stop someone from bringing something you dislike is to tell them precisely what to bring to your meal.

We're at the Brooklyn Marriott for four nights.

I keep trying to like Al Di La, but I agree that the food is greasy and the atmosphere absolutely hideous. Henry's End has fallen down, way down. Joey the main chef left about a year ago, bad news. The portions are smaller, the seasoning is heavy-handed and the vegetables are a sad joke. Sigh. Of course there is always River Cafe very expensive but really worth it. Prix Fixe is up to 95 bucks. Try the brunch over the weekend.

Espresso/Cappucino Machine

I have had two tassimo machines so far in the last two years, why? they keep breaking. I must admit the company replaces them free, but this is crazy. I use them once a week!! The chip keeps malfunctioning. I do not recommend them for this reason.

Shabbos Weekend in Las Vegas

Las Vegas is high desert, 2000 feet. it is only hot hot from mid June through mid-september. September through October run in the 80s to 90s. October on thru March it is Fall and Winter. Fall is in the 50s during the day and sometimes below freezing at night. Winter can be quite chilly 30s and 40s. I was just there and it was 38 degrees at night. It snows there. Also be very cautious about your room at the Mandalay Bay, ask to see it before hand and check out everything, cleanliness, broken fixtures, noise levels, etc. I had an awful time there.

Landmarc Tribeca has jumped the Shark

No heat or very little and it was 42 degrees outside. Windows were filthy upstairs, hope kitchen was cleaner. Asked not to have french fries told no subsitutions, not even some additional salad that you buy in enormous bags premixed? Food is very salty, why is that, is the meat now a bad cut? Very noisy and of course lots of screaming children. Was forced to wait for my coat in a drafty doorway because I had dared to check it. When I complained I was scowled at. Not worth the wait or the money.

low carb in theater district

I am on Atkins induction. My girlfriend can only eat fish, meat and vegetables. Where can we eat tomorrow in the theater district or up to 57th street safely that will not cost us 35.00 per person? I know about Blue Fin and the Palm but both of those are expensive. We do not drink. Thanks.
