Best Non-Adventerous Food In Manhattan

My wife and friend want to go out to an AWESOME meal for their 40th B-Day's.
They do not each foie, oysters, sushi or any offal. Many of the best places have raw fish on their tasting menus, which is a non starter.
Given all of this, where should they go?
I was thinking Craft (which they have been to already) or Del Posto, but wanted something different.
Please Help!
Thanks.

I am planning a private dinner for clients...it can be anywhere in Manhattan. Obviously, we are considering the usuals, PerSe, Daniel...but is there any others that are awesome that I may not have though of?

Mint, Eggplant and Ground Pork--What should I cook?

Stuffed eggplant. cut them in half, hollow out the eggplant, but leave enough in the shell so that it does not fall apart. saute the removed eggplant, add some garlic, your pork, maybe some cheese (parmesan?) and some mint. stuff it in the eggplant and roast it on relatively high heat, maybe 375 or even 400. you want the outside to get crispy, so rub some olive oil on it. probably bake for 40 minutes or so. would be great.

How to showcase celery?

You could cook it like cardoons, meaning peel off all the stringy outside, cook it in some stock and then flour it and fry it. delicious.
or, take all of the leaves and stir them into mashed potatoes with butter. a great dish.
or, you could make a risotto. a classic way to highlight an ingredient.

LOBSTERS - where in nyc?

Centro Vasco is not an upscale joint, but for lobster, it is spectacular. Sure, you can get butter poached lobster at eleven madison, but for just lobster, I am not sure it can be beat. What specifically do you find insulting? I am interested.

LOBSTERS - where in nyc?

It is a spanish style lobster place, that is not the finest dining establishement, but is OK and the lobsters are spectacular. Go for the 2.5lbs. with is about $45 and probably the best lobster value around. Oh yeah, just get it broiled and get the spanish potatoes on the side, which are a cross between potato chips and home fries. Heavenly.

Go the the Peking Duck House on Mott, which is just awesome. The one uptown I do not think is as good. Maybe it is just the atmosphere.

fave new restaurants-2 years old or less

Parea, was just OK. I had the lobster domlades. Bland and while creative, not much flavor. It lacked any depth and thee was virtually no salt added. Also had the crispy pork or something and it was crispy, but in the old, sitting underneath a heatlamp for 4 hours kinda dry, crispy. Why not use some pork belly and broil it afterward. Again, mediocre. Also had the red snapper for two, which was stuffed with currants (actually I think they were raisans, but I will give them the benefit) and sauteed onions, and was good, a little overcooked, and not great.
Plus, the, I believe exclusively, greek wine list was expensive for greek wines which you can get in Astoria for $8 or $10 bucks.
For the price, I would stay away.

39th and 8th ave - I need a new spot to eat

Seriously, this might be the worst spot to find food in NYC.
I have had the chinese on 38th for $3.75, great, but not everyday.
The market cafe is OK, but I need something on a daily basis.
Any recommendations other than moving the office?

Recipes using shredded zuchinni?

OK, three ideas:
1)the greeks make a lot of zucchini cakes, which is just an egg or two, some flour, maybe some nutmeg and cheese and pan-fry them. you can use parmeasan. they taste great.
2)cut them in half moons and freeze them.
you can make some great agro-dolce. brown them in some olive oil over high, high heat and then add some vinegar and honey. amazing.
3) pan fry some half moons and toss with pasta and some pecorino and black pepper. awesome dish.
