Gathering for 15-20 people in Montgomery County?

Hi Everyone,
Looking for a central restaurant in Montgomery County between Pottstown, Lansdale, Warminster areas. I was considering Blue Bell area. We are planning a family get together of about 15-20 people where we could mingle and catch up while having drinks and snacks on a Saturday night. Any good suggestions? I'm at a loss!

Thanks!

Lunch in Monrgomeryville/North Wales

Thanks everyone. Have you ever tried Los Sarapes in Horsham? I just saw it on Google Maps. I've never noticed it before when driving through the area.

Lunch in Monrgomeryville/North Wales

Hi everyone,

I'm in charge of choosing a lunch place for my team tomorrow. We work in North Wales and can travel to the surrounding Montgomeryville/North Wales/Warrington areas. Any recommendations for a good place to eat that won't break the bank?

Thanks!

Rose Mosteller's Seafood Market - Pottstown?

Has anyone ever been to this seafood market in Pottstown? It is right next to Henry's Cafe and I can't find a website or any information about it online! Wondering what the hours are, and if worth a trip. Thanks!

Attempting to recreate Distrito's Spiced Nuts - suggestions?

I found the Union Square Bar Nuts recipe and gave it a shot. I used the recipe and just added lime zest and they turned out delicious! Thanks!

Attempting to recreate Distrito's Spiced Nuts - suggestions?

Hello,

I'm attempting to recreate the spiced nuts that Distrito serves as a type of appetizer when you first sit down. All I can distinctly recall is the lime zest. Does anyone know what other spices may be on them?

Thanks!

Smoked Salmon at Pumpernick's - Montgomeryville

Hi everyone,
Has anyone ever gotten Smoked Salmon from the deli at Pumpernick's in Montgomeryville? My family has a tradition of Bagels w/ cream cheese and lox/smoked salmon at the holidays, and I'm looking for somewhere good to buy real smoked salmon instead of the packaged kind at the grocery store. Any reports about this place, or a place near by I could try?
Thanks!

Village Whiskey - ever been?

Awesome, thanks guys! We've decided to make reservations with Distrito for the tasting menu, but stop by Village Whiskey first in case there is an opening. If there is, we will stay at Village Whiskey and cancel our reservations at Distrito :) I'll have to let you all know how it goes! Thanks again!

Village Whiskey - ever been?

Thanks so much for your information. I was not expecting it to be a no reservations restaurant! We will probably save VW for another lower-key night. Any idea if the other Garces restaurants are all no reservations as well? And which would be best for a celebration dinner?

Village Whiskey - ever been?

Hi,
I'm looking for thoughts on Garces' Village Whiskey. My boyfriend would like to go there for his birthday dinner. I've checked out the website and it looks like a more laid back type of place - is this correct? Is it best to make reservations ahead of time? Any suggestions on the best things to try on the menu? We are looking to go next Friday night.
Thanks!

Waterwheel Restaurant, Doylestown

I just wanted to comment that my family went to Waterwheel for Easter brunch and had a fantastic time. It was our first time there, and we enjoyed every aspect of the restaurant from the service to the food to the setting. Definitely recommend!

Buona Via in Horsham

I just went there last night for a happy hour with some co-workers. We sat in the bar area and really enjoyed it! We ordered some appetizers and they had a small free happy hour buffet with bruschetta, smoked salmon, and hot wings. Everything we tried was really good! I would give it a go :)

Majolica in Phoenixville

I just wanted to give a quick little report on our evening at Majolica.

First of all, I was glad we made reservations because the dining room is small and it was First Friday, which we forgot about! We had a wondeful experience at Majolica. Our waitress was as nice as could be and recommended the house specialities to us since we had never been there before. We were each given a slice of the housemade rosemary/sea salt foccocia with dipping oil. The salt really made that for me! Then appetizers - the Heirloom Tomato Salad with Cured Tuna and the Crispy Veal Sweetbreads. Both were great. Our main courses were the Pompano (fish with a crispy skin on top of chanterelle mushrooms and these little flower bulbs of which the name is escaping me right now, but that taste like mild onions) and the Short Ribs with Edamame and Horseradish. Both amazing! Lastly we ordered a Majolica Coffee and the Flourless Chocolate Torte with Salted Caramel Ice Cream. I thought the meal was a bit expensive, but it was worth the money for an adorable setting, great wait staff and excellent food. Will return!!

I am also considering Funky Little Kitchen in Pottstown, so if you have any opinion on this as well, I'd really appreciate it! Which is better, in your eyes?

Majolica in Phoenixville

Hello CHers,

I am new to the Phoenixville area, and looking for a place to go for an anniversary dinner. Is Majolica a good pick? Any advice as to what to order, how far in advance to make reservations, dress code, etc? We are hoping for this Friday night. I checked out their website, but it doesn't give too much information - just a sample menu.

Thanks!!

Philly Specific Foods?

Hello Hounds,
My friend just moved out to California after living her whole life in Philadelphia/Montgomery County/PA Dutch areas. I want to send her a care package of snacks and foods that she can't find out in California that are specifically found in Philly/PA. Any ideas? I am drawing blanks - I have only come up with TastyKakes, soft pretzels and apple butter. Any ideas would be awesome, thanks!!

Smoke Daddy's Barbecue fridays and saturdays at the Lansdale Eagles Club

Is this Smoke Daddy's BBQ place "ghetto"? I know Fifth Street in Lansdale can be a little shady. Just not sure what to expect at this Eagles Club!

Tamarind Question

Thanks guys. Will not use the soup base as suggested, and try searching for a local Indian or Asian market. Perhaps I can find Red Thai Curry Powder in an Indian or Asian grocery store as well? These are the last 2 ingredients I need to hunt down!

Tamarind Question

Hello,
I am going to attempt to make Pad Thai at home, however the recipe I'm using calls for tamarind paste and I can't find it anywhere! I found Tamarind Soup Base in a packet - can this be used as a substitute? If so, do I need to mix it with water to make it into a paste, and would it be the same amount the recipe calls for?

Thanks in advance!
