B-Side Lounge to reopen
I'm pretty sure they're in there tearing things up right now. I know they're aiming to open as soon as they can, but with hearings and city of Cambridge stuff, looks like late April / early May.
Las Vegas - Private Dining for 70-90 people
These are all great leads so far, thank you!!!
Benatti- Menu recommendations
I didn't know they had a bar! I will have to stop in soon to check it out!! How many does it seat?
Las Vegas - Private Dining for 70-90 people
Hello! Our high school class has decided to hold our 15 year reunion in Las Vegas this year. I'm sure there are a million function rooms, but I'm afraid of getting stuck eating some crappy buffet and drinking cheap wine so I'm taking matters into my own hands and fining the venue myself. Can anyone recommend a really great restaurant with space to accommodate a group this size, preferably on the strip? We're a casual group and our tastes probably skew towards pan-Asian rather than European cuisine. Price isn't really an issue at this point, just trying to find a great restaurant that will do a great job with a group this size. Extra points if it's an outdoor or poolside venue. We're thinking an evening event; if it doesn't happen in May, then it will probably this fall. is this enough information to start? We're just beginning to organize now... any help is appreciated!
Planning ahead- special dinner, Oleana fell through
How about Dante? They are a much bigger restaurant than Oleana and will probably have no problem accommodating your party of 8. Price range is about the same and the food is really good, that boy's got talent! On a recent visit, the linguini with 'frutti di mare' was ridiculously delicious! I would go back once a week just for that!!! And by the time May comes around, the patio might even be open for some of the best Charles River views around!
Tacos Lupita
Thank you for reminding me that I love Tacos Lupita! They have been off my radar for a year!
East Coast Grill & Raw Bar: Not worth it.
I really, really, REALLY want to love East Coast Grill, but I don't. I was in recently and ordered #1 Tuna which was of fine/fresh quality, but the accompaniments were weird and discordant: green olives, blood oranges and crispy capers which were more burned than crispy. I couldn't finish it or my wet bone which was so tough I had to attack it with my steak knife. I always kick myself for not sticking to Black and Blue Tuna Tacos. Oh well... I have better luck at brunch, but I believe it's because of the self-help Bloody Mary's!
Surprisingly Excellent Food at the Druid
I love the Druid too, and that it's right in my neighborhood makes it even better. My roommate swears by their burger and Wednesday night trivia. I love their fish sandwich, although I wish they would serve it at brunch. I walked in late one night (don't recall which day of the week) to find 12 Irish fiddlers crammed into the front booth, jamming away. It's one of my favorite places to check everything at the door and just relax.
best place for food & beer
Hey, I was at Atwoods last night too! Were you at the bar or at a table? It's impossible not to like D.R. Band. I know what you mean about the food, but I usually overlook that. Or you can have dinner at East Coast Grill, stop at Christina's for Ice Cream and then walk down to Atwoods for beer. Ice Cream and beer.... yeah!
Lavagna lately
I'll be in NYC this weekend and wondering if anyone's been to Lavagna recently. Are there any dishes that should not be missed? Thanks!
Best Vietnamese Summer Rolls? (pregnancy craving)
You need Le's!!! They're right in Harvard Square, in the space that was formerly Pho Pasteur. They have my favorite summer rolls! Fresh, quality ingredients. I could eat them every day. I love their soups too. And, they deliver!
Recommendations for Persephone (dinner)?
I love that pretzel! I only had it once but it immediately became an all-time Top 5. Even my vegetarian girlfriend concurs. Fun wine list too, lots of gems.
best place for food & beer
I know that they make their rilettes and pates in house. Everything else is from Formaggio Kitchen. And Tuesday is the night to go, Dwight Richter and his band are super talented! Oh no... the secret is out! Will I ever get a bar seat again?
best place for food & beer
Unless you're dying for a killer Veggie Burger, Bukowski's Taven (I prefer the back bay location a million times over the cambridge one) probably won't fit the food bill although they have the best beer selection around. Green Street in Central Square has a concise and thoughtful beer list and they food is better than good. Deep Ellum might have a stronger, more diverse selection than Green St, but their food isn't really worth it. I've heard the Publick House in Brookline offers a good selection, but I can't vouch from experience. Good luck!
bangin burrito at herrera's
Taco Loco is in East Somerville on Broadway. I guess you could call it destination dining because there's not much to do in that area. It's not far from Vinny's at Night, just a couple of blocks for delicious, no-frills, red-sauce Italian.
bangin burrito at herrera's
Burritos are a perfect food, I like herrera's too. Taco Loco does a good burrito, everything is super-fresh and I love the salsa verde. Olecita is ok, their burritos are huge, but on the heavy side. I usually skip the crema and cheese. My all-time favorite is the grilled shrimp burrito at Bueno Y Sano in Amhearst; it's all about that soft chewy tortilla! Oh my god, I want one now!!! Totally worth the drive...
