Inniskillin 1999 Dornfelder Icewine

Thanks for the info, I'll keep looking. Btw, can you describe 'flabby' a bit more? Too rich? No finish? I'm trying to picture what a flabby icewine would taste like, but I can't.

Inniskillin 1999 Dornfelder Icewine

Friends, help me out with this one. I've left messages for Inniskillin themselves and I can't get a response.

Someone out there must be either familiar with this rare icewine, have tried it, or has it in their collection. I'm an absolute fan of icewines and wanted to know how more about it, hence my attempt to contact Inniskillin. From what I've gathered, it was an experiment by Karl Kaiser and was never made again - not from the standpoint of quality, but from one of low yield.

Anyone out there have any info on it, or personal experiences?

Cheers,

Mike

Food Grade Plastic Containers in GTA?

Sweet... I'll def check both of them out. Thanks for the help!

Food Grade Plastic Containers in GTA?

Hey guys, looking to brine meats to make smoked meat, bacon, etc etc. As far as I've read, certain plastics should be avoided, especially if the brines/meats are slightly acidic as plastic compounds can leach into the brine.

Anyone out there know where I can pick up a (preferably) airtight box-type container... maybe big enough to fit in a fridge and hold 1-2 whole beef briskets and/or 2-3 gallons of liquid capacity?

Thanks in advance...

SM

Prices at the "Butcher Shoppe" in Etobicoke?

Any place in particular you suggest? How's the quality/pricing?

Looking for spice...

if you're willing to head over to the yonge/dundas area, hit up Salad King (335 Yonge). Thai food, heat is customizable through a "chili scale" - 1 chili being bleh, 20 chilis being a trip to the 5th level of hell. If you love the heat, try something in the 10 chili range.

Prices at the "Butcher Shoppe" in Etobicoke?

Hey guys, I've read a lot of posts from here over the years and finally decided to sign up. This board is a great source of info!

Anyway, I've searched the forums and found some references to the Butcher Shoppe in Etobicoke (e.g. retail entrance at the side with no sign, no butcher counter, cash only, etc etc), and I actually stopped by there this morning and saw all of this with my own eyes. One question - how much does stuff cost there? Factory prices, sure, and maybe I'm alone on this but I usually like to know what I'm paying before I drive there. Do they circulate some sort of price list? They don't show prices on their website, understandably I guess. If I wasn't in such a rush, I would've sat there and waited.

So I invite people who have actually purchased something there to enlighten all of us. Did you experience anything being short/out of stock?

Thanks!

Mike
