Near Union Station?

Coming in for one night, and looking for a restaurant not too far from Union station (doesn't need to be walking distance, but not out of the way). Will also need somewhere I can hail a cab from after dinner. $20-$25 an entree is fine. Any type of food, preferablly not a chain. Thanks!

Where to eat near BAM?

Caffe e' Vino has my favorite dish - big rigatoni's with italian sausage and a great balsamic. If I had to choose a last dish, this would be it.

Cheap Eats in the Village and Morningside Heights for one

Mark on St. Marks Place has pretty good sliders, and fries. You can easily get 2 sliders and fries for $10 (and they're pretty big, so it's enough for dinner). They also have really good milkshakes and a decent beer selection.
Oaxaca is on Extra place, off of 2nd street between 2nd ave and bowery. Really good taco's with high quality ingredients. I think it was only about $3 per taco.
You can always get Indian on 6th street. They're always cheap and I've never had a bad experience, and they all seem about the same to me!

Wedding Rehearsal Dinner for 20 people - <$100pp

Ok, let me start by saying that I realize this is a weird suggestion, but what about Cuba Restaurant (Thomposon between Bleeker and Great Jones)? They have a downstairs that I think could fit that many people, and you should be able to squeeze in the ceramony (although it would probably wont feel spacious). It'd work with your budget. You could probably ask them to do family style even, and the food is good. Anywhere in Manhattan is going to be a mindfuck with parking. That's why garages exist.

Good Brunch Place

It's a little West, but Bone Lick BBQ is a good standby place for brunch. Good omlettes, pancakes, etc. with a BBQ spin. Also have a champagne special. Whenever I go, everyone always has something they like and it always comes to $20/pp.

One night in Manhattan. But where to eat ????????

My favorite place for a steak is Strip House Steak house which is 12th st between 4th and 5th ave, but it's going to be more than $50 a person (as I think most steakhouses in the city will be). My favorite place in China town is Amazing 66. It's not great atmosphere, but the food is really good. I know it sounds weird, but they have an amazing chicken dish with pickles and ginger on it. If you go, you really should get it. It's on Mott st. between canal and Bayard.

Two other places to consider (both are very different from each other, and not exactly what you asked for, but good none the less and within your price range):
1)Nook - 9th Ave b/w 50th and 51st. It is really small, so make a reservation. Great food, steaks, lamb chops, they have a past dish, chicken, etc. This is BYOB, which is great on your wallet, but make sure you stop at a wine stor on the way there!
3)Bistro Jules - St. Marks Pl. b/w 2nd and 1st ave. Really delicious french food, and they have jazz bands there all the time.

Manhattan BYOB Favorites

I love Nook - 9th ave and 50th. Super small, great food, reasonable prices, and the host/waitor is incredibly thoughtful and really takes care of you. You'll need a reservation.

Picky parents coming!

And 1 little brother (16).

They like Italian, American, steak houses, French etc. And booze. A place w/ a specialty cocktail list would be good.

They dislike Chinese. Have never tried (nor, sadly, have any desire to) Indian, Thai, Japanese, etc.

The spotted pig was a little to weird for them, but they loved Bistro Jules.

$20 an entree. Willing to travel to other boroughs.

HELP!

Family coming to town..

My parents and brother (16) are coming to visit. I'm looking for a reasonable priced restaurant ($15-20 a plate), and they aren't very adventurous. They like Italian, French, American, but no Indian, anything Asian, Himalayan, etc. Any suggestions??

Would also be open to ideas for activities!

Hi - Native NY'er now living elsewhere looking for some suggestions for dinner -

Poco is a tasty tapas place on 3rd and B (I think). It's resonable priced, pretty small, and delicious.

Current Favorite Dish/Item for Less than $10?

You'll need to take the ride out to Queens, but the falafel shop under the LIRR Forest Hills (you can take the E or F to 71st Ave, Continental too). The falafel is always warm and fresh, the pita is soft perfect, and there are tons of toppings to choose from. mmmmm

Also in Queens - Wafa's. AMAZING schwarma, baklava, and pretty much anything else that come's out of her kitchen. YUM

Suggestions please!

Yes, unfortunately they won't drink anything else. Grrr

Suggestions please!

I have clients coming in from out of town who we are taking out dinner. They're looking for "meat and potatoes", and would like somewhere that serves Miller Lite.

I would like to take them somewhere a little nicer - not a dive bar/sports bar/Irish pub.

Maybe a steakhouse? Any suggestions?

Please Help - Anniversary Dinner Recommendations On A College Student Budget

I was looking into this last week and found a great solution - Nook on 9th Ave b.w 50th and 51st. It's BYOB, so stop at a liquor store on your way and pick up a bottle of bubbly.

We split the mushroom cigar for app, he had the steak frit, I had the chicken, and we split peanut butter pie for dessert. All were delicious and it all came to $60.

Be sure to make a reservation!

Best Gourmet hot dogs in NYC

Thanks all for the suggestions!

I think we'll either try Crifs or Bark - We're from Rochester, so love our Hartmann's and didn't know they were in the city.

Will let you know how it goes. Thanks!

Best Gourmet hot dogs in NYC

For my 5 year anniversary this weekend, I am surprising my better half with a search for the best NYC has to offer of his favorite thing - hot dogs. I'm not looking for the best dirty water dog in the city though. His favorite spot in our home town has a list of 20 dogs with all different delicious toppings all served on french bread. Everything from the standard Chicago or chili dog to the Greek stray - a crispy grilled Zweigel's dog on french bread topped w/ feta, tzazihki sauce, cucumbers, onions. My mouth is watering just thinking about it...

Don't get me wrong, there are some good cart dog's out there, but I'm looking for something really special. Any suggestions?

Parents....

We ended up going to Bistro Jules, which was perfect! The food and wine were fantastic, and the live music was great. I'm sure we'll go back again. Thanks for the advice!

Parents....

I'm relatively new to NY, and my parents are coming to visit this weekend, so I'm looking for somewhere to take them. I'd like to go somewhere moderately priced ($15-25 for an entree), with good drinks and good food. We're willing to go anywhere in Manhattan. They like new american, italian, maybe french? I'm open to all suggestions!
