So I looked at the Amazon reviews for 21. Wow!

It's now on our must-try list.

Sounds like a perfect flavor combination. Do you cook the nachos before or after drizzling them with the sauce?

Yay+ for the Sriracha and Roasted Garlic BBQ Sauce. Just tried it recently, after seeing a post about it here some months ago.

As the label says, "It has tang, it has heat, it has garlic, and it has sweet." Basted on something and grilled or broiled, it creates a terrific glaze with great flavor.

We're on our second bottle of watermelon-cucumber. SO drinks it straight; I find that about 1/2 oz. is very interesting in a martini.

NOT insane.

To clear your head, you could get more exercise.....but that might not workout.

Maybe one of your excellent Dolin martinis or manhattans?

Yes, Dolin is FINE. (But pricey. Worth it, where its excellence comes though. Overkill for lesser uses, I'd say.)

Red vermouth cooking tip: Great for caramelizing onions, adding to a pan glaze, and other uses where its sweetness is appropriate. At only $4.99 for 750ml, Ponti is the bee's knees for things like that.

Big Yay for the Ponti brand vermouths (both red and white), which I've seen only at TJ.

They're better than the big-name brands, which are much more $$$.

Not only great in drinks, their complex flavors also allow for many creative cooking uses.

Not as gloppy as the fancy stuff. :-)

Taco Bell Pre-90s Was Good - Do You Notice the Difference Now?

In the late 60s, as a teen, I moved from Northern Virginia (no TB's) to the San Fernando Valley (plenty of TB's).

TB immediately became my go-to. I think tacos were something like 29 cents. Does that sound right?

And they were delicious. I was in heaven.

(And, I ventured into LA classics such as El Rey's....Is that still going strong? Garbage Burrito, anyone???)

A few years later, I moved back East. By then, TB's had popped-up there.

But, I felt that they were not as authentic and good as the California version.

These days, TB is still on my occasional fast food list. I get only the simplest things -- tacos and basic burritos. TB's "fancy" items are gloppy, using the same gloppy stuff in different permutations and combinations merely to up the price points.

Meh+ (which is just below Yay-) for the Fireworks chocolate bar. Didn't have as much KICK! and POP! as I'd hoped for.

Yah - Sweet Sriracha uncured bacon jerky. Pricey, but a flavor bomb! Love it after a few seconds in the microwave.

Yes, that's a very good way of saying it!

We had it last night, over basmati rice.

The curry is very tasty....slightly rich....and slightly spicy.

Has the display format changed here? It used to be that I saw all posts on one page, with the ones that I'd seen previously collapsed, and the new ones in full text. That made it quick and easy to catch-up on what's new.

Now, I see the full text of every post - including all the hundreds that I've viewed before - and they're spread out over multiple pages.

What a pain!

Is this happening to everyone, or is it because of something that I did? (And could fix?)

BTW..........MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYBODY!!!

Trader Joe's YAY/MEH/NAY - December 2014 [OLD]

Coffee cream panettone all sold out, at my store yesterday. No more this season, they said.....

Yum! We'll look for that panettone! Here's the description on your Scar Pier web page: "Panettone without raisins and candied fruits, with coffee flavoured chocolate chips and filled with coffee cream and icing sugar (30g icing sugar bag), hand wrapped with green decorated paper and tied by a satin ribbon." Drool.

Interestingly, the Scar Pier item is listed as 1100 grams, which is about 39 ounces. That archived FF piece (from last year?) says it's "a mere $4.99 for each 26.5 ounce cake." And Capogiro says the TJ's (Trader Giotto's?) price is $12.99....

Mysteries worth investigating!
