Max Downtown for New Year's--not great I had a similar experience with a seafood paella some months agot Max downtonwn, and manager Steve Abrams went way out of his way to make up for the poor quality of the dish. Definitely let them know you were dissatisfied, in a constructive way, and they will go out of their way to make you a happy customer. I was floored by the care and concern he showed. I understood they were removing it from the menu. |

the Mill at 2T, Tariffville, Ct. Sadly, the link to the courant is broken. I am unable to find the review even on courant's website. frustrating! |

the Mill at 2T, Tariffville, Ct. Ate dinner there 9/26/09 and was wowed. Beautiful space, first-rate service, super well prepared creative dishes. Very unusual for this geographic area. Destined to become a special place for locals. Menu small, yes, but nice variety of choices. Nice touches: web site menu current for each day, black napkin for person wearing black slacks, white otherwise. Could have a few more choices of wines by the glass. Overall, a real gem. |

6/09 Trumbull Kitchen, Hartford Ct.:Top Fusion Food as Vibrant as the Scene I live in CT and this restaurant is consistently a favorite. Noise is nasty, yes, but food served is consistently excellent. |

Looking for Hartford area restaurant specials Sorry, looks like they removed the prix-fixe dinner menus from the web sites. They were there so long I didn't check before posting. |

Cavey's in Manchester, CT: Highs and lows For people not interested in really special (ie expensive and/or rare) wines, the choices downstairs were indeed limited. There were just a couple at $40, none less, and at that price, the wine was only fair in my opinion. The wine list is HUGE and overwhelming for the casual drinker, but maybe that is not the intended consumer. |

Looking for Hartford area restaurant specials The "Max" restaurants have been running $24.95 prix-fixe meals that are great deals. Check their web sites. |

Cavey's in Manchester, CT: Highs and lows We ate at Cavey's downstairs in April and felt it had lost alot of the qualities it had 30 or so years ago, when it was at the top of places to eat. Decor needs updating for sure, but we had missteps in our meal, preparation of some things so oversalted we had to complain. Definitely not really "French" anymore. There was only one server and the level of service was less than good really. Very expensive though they say their prices are comptetive. I am sorry it has lost its specialness etc. |
