Bread Bakeries!?

Hey NYNO,

I'll be heading to NYC in a couple of weeks and had heard about Sullivan Street Bakery and was planning on stopping by. Any recs on what to get there.
Also while I'm at it, any other places I shouldn't miss while I'm there. I know its hard for such a big city but thought you might throw out a couple.
Lastly is Babbo worth it?
Thanks in advance

Need EARLY Dinner Help

I'm in the unfortunate position of having to eat around 5pm Saturday evening. I'm having trouble finding a place that fits this bill: Moderate price ($15-25 a head), Easy parking (read not in the French quarter), and delicious. I was thinking Luke but again...parking. Help please. It doesn't matter where it is we can drive anywhere.

Also, I remember reading or hearing that one restaurant has an early dinner special starting at 4:30.....that's all I remember. Anyone have any clues.

Favorite Food at Jazz Fest 2009.....so far

For those of you who have already gone and enjoyed the food, what have been the highlights so far?

Favorite Items At Patois?

Do y'all think it would be a good idea to get an "App-gumbo-App" meal? If the rabbit isn't available or are one of the entrees not to be missed?

Favorite Items At Patois?

I don't see rabbit tenderloin on the menu

Favorite Items At Patois?

I'll be heading there Thursday evening and was wondering what some of y'alls favorite apps/entrees are? Thanks for the recs.

Big Fisherman Cheap Easy Delicious

Is it true the Bulldog across the street will allow you to eat them in the courtyard?

What to order at Lilette?

Thanks scarlett. Sounds great. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.

What to order at Lilette?

I'm going to be heading there in a couple of night and was wondering what some of the favorite apps/entrees/desserts are? Thanks.

The Tourist Foodie

I'd go:

Lunch: Commander's Palace and Cochon

Dinner: Restaurant August and Patois

That's a great taste of what New Orleans has got to offer.

Breakfast: Cafe du Monde (Cafe au lait and beignets) and ?????????? Petunia's in the quarter. Some one might have to help me out with breakfast.

What To Order At Gautreau's?

Heading to Gautreau's tomorrow (Saturday) evening and was looking for some recs on what to order. I'll be going with 2 others and we generally like to have a taste of as much as we can so no one orders the same thing. Any suggestions?

New Orleans couple in Dallas for a Weekend. Need Recs

Downtown/park cities/around SMU, but we have a car so we can drive anywhere. We will eat pretty much anything.

New Orleans couple in Dallas for a Weekend. Need Recs

My girlfriend and I will be visiting my sister in Dallas from Friday 2-13 until Sunday 2-15. I'm looking for a lot of help. I need a dinner rec for Friday. Breakfast and lunch for Saturday (my sister already made reservations at the Mercury for Saturday night). And breakfast and lunch or just brunch on Sunday. I'm looking for the best of what Dallas has got to offer. Whether that is expensive, cheap or somewhere in between it doesn't matter. I'd love to get a mix of both. Someone please plan out my meals.
ps. We aren't big wine drinkers so please don't rec somewhere JUST because of the wine list.....food is the top priority here. Thanks

New for 2009?

Wow, what did you order at Stanley. IMO the Reuben is the best thing they have and it's only around $10. Throw in a $5 cup of their gumbo, which has large chunks of 4 different kinds of meats (Andouille, Shrimp, Duck, and oysters?) Thats plenty enough and high quality food for the price. I'd say it's a perfect place to go.

Crabby Jacks still around???

I'm not sure, as I don't usually get dessert with lunch. If they did I wouldn't expect anything too elaborate. Desserts aren't really why people pack in this place. But for all I know they could have great desserts, I've just never tried any.

Crabby Jacks still around???

I lived off of this place last year and it was busy if not packed everytime I went. I've tried nearly everything on the menu and I'd have to say the duck po' boy is still the best, although EVERY po'boy i've had (fried green tomato and shrimp roumelade, oysters, shrimp...etc) has been exceptional. Also their lunch plates are a great deal for what you get and are way above par. I tried the BBQ shrimp and breath-taking RB po'boy from Liuzza'a by the Track today and I could think of about 15 things at Crabby Jack's that are way better than both of those. Word of warning...the sides are delicious (housemade chips) but you won't have room for them because the po'boys are HUGE! Well worth the drive.

La Petite or K-Paul's for V-Day

Well i never would have known that, thanks. But the more I look around this site and the web in general I'm beginning to think that bearing the traffic may be worth it.

La Petite or K-Paul's for V-Day

After being shocked that all the restaurants we would have preferred eating at over these two were booked ALREADY for Valentine's day (namely Stella!, Gautreau's, Iris, Patois), my girlfriend and I accidentally got two separate reservations at La Petite Grocery and K-Paul's. Now, we can't decide which one to keep and which one to cancel. We are not tourist, just haven't been to either one yet. Even though it's for Valentine's day the ambiance is still a distant second consideration to us compared to the FOOD! Also, once you weigh in on which restaurant to go to could you also include your favorite things to get there. Thanks for the help.
