Any Suggestions for Group of 14 in Long Island City or Astoria?
I was going to suggest RIverview as well- while the food is okay, it is a pretty big space and has a small private room which will be able to suit your needs. It has a lot of street parking during the weekend- I might also suggest Sidetracks- I liked the food and they are pretty big and have a lot of smaller rooms- they also have parking right across the street

Day-after Wedding brunch spot with the new family??
we did a table for 10 at 44 and X on 10th and 44th and it was great- they take reservations, which is key and they had a nice brunch menu. Everyone enjoyed it.

looking for lively place for dinner/drinks for 25 people
yes I meant sala 19-
we had a large rectangle table against the wall, with 13 ppl- we added two ppl, and had a two top on the other side of us- it could def. fit 20 ppl where we were. I am not sure what they would do with 25, but when I called, I was told the max # was 24-

looking for lively place for dinner/drinks for 25 people
I just did a dinner party at Sola19- we did the pre-fixed option which was 60 pp, with unlimited wine, beer, and sangria- it was great- it was for 2 hours- they only do two seatings- 730 and 930- but I think they max out at 24 ppl
if you do the early one, I would suggest having a place for drinks after (like flatiron lounge, which is next door and will take a reservation for a table w/out cost)
It was a lot of fun, my only complaint would be that we had the 930 reservation and the ppl before us did not leave until almost 10-
If you have 25 ppl, most places will make you do a pre-fixe menu.
Bridal Shower
I have two suggestions-
one is paris commune- I went to a baby shower in the downstaris room and if was lovely- has a nice vibe, almost like a wine bar- it was set up with one long table- I dont know if it can hold that many ppl
the other place is cibar on irving- (which might be lady mendl's) I went to a shower there and they had the whole space, bc it is no open for lunch. The only thing is the food was very light fare, finer sandwiches. But, the place is pretty and there are a ton of couches and the space is nice-
I think brassierie 8 1/2 also has a private room that they can do showers in -
I wasnt there, but my friend recently went to a shower at Choice in the 20's
pretty much any place with a private space will work- u just have to find a place that you like and call around. It will also depend what your budget is

Red Rooster REst. Week Review..not that I ate off that menu
so just got back from dinner at Red Rooster-
1st- the place is lovely, very happening bar scene, ppl eating and drink there. There were also some tables in the bar area. THe place is very pretty and has a cool vibe. We were sat without a wait once my whole party arrived. They were def. very busy.
2nd- The Rest. week menu- It is not the menu listed online at nycgo. In fact, there are no choices, it has one app, one main dish and one dessert. In fact, some of the items listed on the website are not even on the regular menu. I believe that the rest. week menu was a beet salad, lemon chicken and a peanut butter/chocolate dessert (my friend did order it)
so I went for the regular menu-
I must say, that everything, everyone had was wonderful- The corn bread was killer. We also did the meatballs as an app. instead of main dish. They were good, but never my favorite, but it did come with mashed potatoes, which were very good. I had the steak frites, which was not like the kind I usually get, with sliced steak. the steak was whole and had grilled onions and mushrooms. IT was excellent, especially considering I normally pick off the mushrooms, but I ate them- My friends had both the lemon chicken and the oxtail. My friend said the oxtail was the best she has had in years.
I went easy for the dessert, but it was awesome as they make homemade cinnomin ice cream, which is one of my all time favorites, but hard to come by.
good food all around, I would def. come back ..
anyone else been?

Needed: Private room for bday dinner for 10 - Downtown
I think you might have a little bit of a hard time finding a private room for 10 ppl, in a lot of places, they will charge you a lot bc the space is bigger.
here are some suggestions,
Crispo has that great nook area and the food is killer.
STK has all those great rooms on the upper level. I cant vouch for the food, but I have been there for drinks and it has a nice vibe.
Marcelleria has a great space that is by the kitchen, it is semi-private, but it is in an area off to the side. Food is very good , but Ihavent been there in years.
Also Spice market has a bunch of rooms downstairs that are semi-private and loungey, I always like the food there and it usually is a lot of fun.

Running out of ideas..65 ppl, 60th bday party, looking for indoor roofdeck or room w/ view
thanks for the list!
I tried the Kimberly, they have a 20K minimum,
I am narrowing down to the Skyroom, The Ritz and maybe the Empire, but they are crazy pricey as well... I will report back tomorrow :)
Looking for a good, fun place for a birthday dinner with a group
I love Crispo and if you have ten ppl, you can get the private nook area-
you can also do BLT Prime, which has awesome food and can easily sit a large group-
a bit on the cheaper side is Supper or Frank which will take a reservation for a large group, and Dinasour bbq-
if you give a neighborhood, it might be easier to give you ideas

Running out of ideas..65 ppl, 60th bday party, looking for indoor roofdeck or room w/ view
thanks everyone! I am still working on it- alot of the places require a full buyout with a 15k-20k minimum which is crazy with the amount of ppl i have. I am thinking about the sky room and I am going to look at that, and still waiting for called back from Rise and BLT fish- I will let you know..

Running out of ideas..65 ppl, 60th bday party, looking for indoor roofdeck or room w/ view
any help would be great- I am planning a 60th bday party for my mom (who is cool and hip). The ideal place would be a private room, with a killer view. I am thinking pass apps all night, open bar, dj, very cocktail party vibe.. I have a pretty open budget (within reason of course)
I am open for rooftop or private room. I have called a bunch of places and either they dont have the room I want (the park) or they wont give me the whole space (rare cheslea). I am currently tossing around Harbour lights in the seaport, but I dont love it, bc it is so resturanty, and the seaport is such a trek.
I also looked at Ravel in LIc. Killer views, and nice room, but it is in the middle of nowhere.
anyone have a thoughts? does the Empire or Ink48 have private rooms with a view?
I am going to call the RItz, but that might way too pricey...
any thoughts would be great... thanks!
Bar/lounge recs for a 35th bday party?
Essex is a good choice- you an take one of the upstairs loft areas, they play music (but make sure you get the loft area that does not have the dj, too loud)- they also will do a cash bar and set up a bartender (who you would have to tip out) . They has will do platters for you of food
Best place to satisfy a craving for Italian in FH?
to be honest, i have never had a bad meal there-
It is one block past the school/police station. I think they might even deliver during the week.
Best place to satisfy a craving for Italian in FH?

Looking for a place to have a large dinner party in Williamsburg or Greenpoint

B-day dinner for 12-15, spanish/tapas...
I am trying to put together a b-day for 12-15 ppl, looking to stay around the LES/Soho/E Villagae area as we are going out around Soho afterward-
looking for a fun place, that will not mind if we are a loud group
I wanted to go to Sala, but they will only do a pre-fixe with a reservation at 7 pm, which is not going to work- taking a reservation is a must-
I am open to other types of food, if someone has a good suggestions as well-
I tossed around stanton social, but I think it might be on the high end of what ppl are going to want to pay-
any thoughts? thanks
