Red wine vinegars
I use Pompeiian, also. For the taste and the price I think its the way to go. Their EVOO is also very good and reasonably priced.
Chinese College Students
Simply serve them with Hoisin and some toasted sesame seeds.
I lost a bet re: CT rivers. Now I have to eat shad roe this Spring. Need advice.
Jeez. Relax.
You weren't challenged to go bunjee jumping from a helicopter with a live snake.
It's fish roe. Caviar under certain terms.
You a foodie or not?
Old fashioned in Dallas...
Celebration also came to my mind first. See if this link rings a bell....

And it's y'all.
Not ya'll. ;-)
how long does kimchee last
I recently had a new, sealed jar in my fridge for about two months. By the time I opened it, it was seriously foul. Way past edible.
Pasilla/Poblano??
A pasilla is a dried chilaca chile. Poblanos, when dried, are called anchos or sometimes mulatos.
Brining an already salt injected frozen turkey?
Do NOT brine a salt injected turkey unless you want to end up at Panda Express for Thanksgiving dinner.
Eats in Bishop Arts (Dal)
Thanks for all the tips. After looking at all the websites/menus, I think we'll try Hattie's.
Eats in Bishop Arts (Dal)
My wife wants me to take her to explore the Bishop Arts district next week. (She's never been.)
Opinions, please: Where to eat??
What is your favorite "foodie" gift to give and/or receive?
Anything that says "Le Creuset".
Cheese & Apple Pie
I love jo jo ba's idea of incorporating grated cheddar into the crust. I must try that!
Cheese & Apple Pie
Does anyone still eat their apple pie with a slice of cheddar on top anymore. Seems to be a thing of the past.
turnip v. rutabaga - what do you call it?
1. Texas.
2. Yes.
3. A turnip is a turnip and a rutabaga is a rutabaga. Two different, yet similar, items.
Corn. White vs Yellow
OP here.
Glad I could garner such enthusiasm.
And yes, I am sincere. On my small patch of planet corn is still available (albeit of lesser quality) during the coming months.
Having skipped the obvious question in my original post,
I'm from the white corn camp. Have fun all.
White American Cheese - Boars Head or Land O' Lakes
Both suck mightly. Look elsewhere.
Oranges: California vs. Florida
FYI, Texas grows very good oranges along the Rio Grande valley later in the season than Cali. They come from the same areas that produce Texas Ruby Red grapefruit.
Corn. White vs Yellow
Do you find a discernable taste difference between white corn and yellow corn?
Or perhaps a textural difference?
Prehaps more importantly,
is there a nutritional difference?
Opine, please.
