Wok cooking classes Boston

My husband got me a very nice carbon steel work for Christmas. We have seasoned it and ready to go. I am using 'The Breath of a Wok' cook book. First attempt tomorrow night. I was wondering if anyone knows of any good Chinese or wok cooking classes in the Boston area? Thank you for any help.

Spiced Caramel Apple Upside-Down Cake

So excited a cake that I can eat - I am lactose intolerant - I will be making this and let you know how it is. Also the link for the pioneer woman's apple-cake-in-a-skillet does not work. Is that also dairy free and if so can you resend the link? Thank you!

Where to eat cheap in St John USVI?

Hi firststater,

Thank you for the information. We have gone to STJ three times and love it! We always went in the fall due to our work schedules. The island is great then because it is not too crowded and we have gotten lucky with the weather at that time. However, some of the fun spots are closed since it is off season. We are looking to go next March and I am hoping these places will be open (restaurant, etc.) Do you know if this is still high season and places are open? I guess I can call and ask some of the places but thought I would check with some folks who have been there.

Thank you for any information, Take Care,

Debra

Heirloom Tomato–Basil Pasta with Olives and Feta

Delicious! I used a big boy tomatoes that we grew in our garden. I seeded them before I chopped up and let then sit for four hours. There was plenty of juice. In fact I am going to make it again this weekend and get a loaf of bread to help soak up the juices. I made this with feta which I love and fresh mozzarella for the rest of the family. Everyone ate this, even my picky Mother. Very easy. This is a keeper.

Dutch Baby Pancake

Help Please. Hi, First off I have to say I just discovered this web site and I love it. So this was the first recipe I made from it. First try this morning I was making it with my two year old son and left the milk out. If it was not for my husband coming into the kitchen and asking what the cup of milk was for I may not of realized it. Anyway, I made a second one but I only had three eggs this time. I chopped up some crispy bacon and added it to the batter. I also used some bacon fat and butter for the pan. It came out very good but denser then I thought it would of been. My son and husband gobbled it up with real maple syrup. I am wondering if I had added the total six eggs would it of been lighter - I am thinking not. So what did I do that it came out not looking like the picture and not as fluffy as I thought it would of been - did I over stir it? Anyway, it was still good. Reminded me of a place I use to go to in London that had sweet and savory pancakes just like this. Thank for the recipe. I wonder how it would be if I chopped up some breakfast sausage in it..?

Vietnamese food in Andover/Northshore area?

Hi,

Ok do not go to the T and N place. It was not good. If you think the food here is good then you would be blown away by Pho in Woburn. We were there on a Friday night at 6:30 OM and we were the only ones in the place. The food was bland and tasted old to me. I will try Pho and Vermicelli next.
