David Chang on his TO Outposts
I think its all hype. To which sum, you're contributing nicely. Well done.
Joanne Kates is leaving the Globe!
I predict Chris Nuttall Smith will get the position.
Toronto Life's 25 best burgers
Actually I'd claim the complete opposite. Toronto Life is moving more and more down market in the last cooule of years.
Joanne Kates retires
Ok lets see here: Harry magazine is an ad for Harry Rosen, Food and Drink is an ad for the LCBO, ROM magazine is an AD for the ROM, the Toronto Standard is a make believe digital publication with zero recent articles by Mr. Chatto, "National Culinary advisor" is a wank job honourary position. Yeah sure real print media. The blog is okay.
BC Spotted Prawns - A quick update
Actually best way to prepare them is a la plancha with premium olive oil, sea salt, and lemon juice.
Frozen Dim Sum
There is a dumpling shop in that plaza. I wonder if it is the one Charles is talking about.
The Eastender - Queen Street East
Seems worth a try:

Burger's Priest vs. Holy Chuck vs. Stockyards
I have found the patties under seasoned the last few times I've been to BP.
Burger Stomper and Milkshake Bar - Danforth Ave
I was writing a clever post but I hit the wrong button and had to start again so you all get the short version now: The burger is good, the onion rings are also good. When asked if they could do rare (rhetorically) the answer was "Once we get to know you" So I'm going to ask the cook out on a bro date now i guess.
St. Lawrence Market - "World's Best Food Market" in National Geographic List -
Buy a few slices of Jamon Iberico at Schefflers. Take it home and eat it in your underwear. With a nice glass of sherry.

Critique my "must try" list for Toronto!
Well said. And for those who live on the Danforth, a trip to Richmond Hill/Markham is about as attractive as a trip downtown for the "self proclaimed expert" Charles Yu. Thank god there are decent options within walking distance for us in Bamboo and Ha Gow.
La Salle a Manger sucks!
I'd like to hear from anybody who has eaten here lately. The Gazette's Lesley Chesterman ranks La Salle a Manger as her 2nd fav of 2011.
You have $10 for a meal, where do you go in Toronto?
Its definitely not a high end pie. Freshness is the key. Straight out of the oven, a simple pepperoni slice is the right balance of crisp outer crust, soft interior, meat grease, melty cheese, whatever sauce. I haven't been to Vesuvios in 3 or 4 years, but I remember fondly my lunches there when I worked in the area. Unfortunately the non pizza items at Vesuvio's are terribly mediocre. Tell me where I can get a better pepperoni slice and I'll try it.

A fresh slice of vesuvios pepperoni. 3 slices will put you into a coma for under $10.
Another one bite the dust - 'Jun Jun' aka 'Chicken & Noodle' no more!!
You will be my chief consultant/taster Charles.
Very tasty food - Raby's 66 Overlea Blvd, Thorncliffe Toronto
Anybody know what the hours/delivery area are for this place?
Another one bite the dust - 'Jun Jun' aka 'Chicken & Noodle' no more!!
I think I'll start up a wonton shop.
