I've really enjoyed reading this thread! here's my list: |

I'll try to get my kids to sample new foods and expand their horizons, but I don't push. If they see me enjoying it they'll get curious eventually. :) |

An important thing to keep in mind with packaging information is creative math. Manufacturers will make serving sizes very small, then round the decimals down. Therefore, a .25-second spray of Pam, which is simply oil, emulsifiers and propellant, can be rounded down to 0 grams of fat, and advertised as "fat free." I have never been able to cover any size pan in .25 seconds, so I'm using several servings at a time. I've never really thought about enforcement issues with the nutrition facts... I just assumed since it's printed right there on the label, someone must be checking these things. |

Are there things you don't get at restaurants any more because you cook them better? I 90% agree about sandwiches. I am inexplicably addicted to the Big Boy patty melt, in all its greasy glory. Any other sandwich, I'll make at home. |

I recently saw a product (I'll admit it... it was on FN) called 'Just The Cheese." It's real cheese, baked into crispy little nuggets. Apparently their inspiration was the crispy little bits of cheese around the edge of a pizza. Well, that's my favorite part, so I checked out their website -- www.specialcheese.com. The product seems expensive for a small-looking bag. Before I order I was wondering if anyone has tried this? Is it worth the price? |

Do you give everyone Thanksgiving leftovers to take home? Our Thanksgiving dinners were always at Grandma's house. She was a firm believer in making sure loved ones were well fed, so everyone took leftovers home. We put aside her favorite bits first, then everyone filled containers till she was satisfied we wouldn't starve. :) Gonna miss her this year... |

The Fiber One bars seem overly sweet and one dimensional to me. I like the Nature Valley sweet n salty nut bars, especially almond. A friend gave me a granola bar in a black wrapper with big pieces of banana, coconut and I think macadamia nuts. That was the best... I just wish I could remember the name! |

What did your Mom always have on hand, that you NEVER do? I love this topic! |

Tipping the attendant makes sense to me (previous poster made a good comparison to hotel maids) but I have a personal issue with their presence at times. The subject of GI illness was mentioned and I too will wait for the bathroom to be empty to "go" if I have a problem. Yes, I wait for the coast to be clear at work as well... |

Hmmm... I've always used paper napkins (as well as far too many paper towels) because I have 2 children and lots of pet cleanups. The cost and extra waste bothers me, but cloth for everyday use always seemed like something I couldn't afford. The argument for cloth makes a lot of sense to me; I think I might switch over! |

Strange Pairings that Taste Uncommonly Good My college roommate used to eat Doritos with cream cheese... they had to be nacho or cool ranch and she had the soft cream cheese in the tub. It was ok, but I never really got it. My favorite was mac n cheese with tuna. |

What fast food do you eat rarely, but that first bite think "Wow, this is so good!" I agree 100% on the steak egg & cheese bagel! I only allow myself one about once a year, but that first bite is greasy gooey heaven! |
