RIP Roslyn's Brick Tavern

Aw man! I stop for a bloody every time I go through (on your recommendation, I believe).

LOL at "Hell's Rotarians" though.

Pioneer Square roundup

They've moved pretty quickly the two times I've been. I went early though, so I'm not sure about later. I loved both the potato topping and the fig & goat cheese topped pieces I've tried.

suggestions for food & drink spots for a vegetarian and a non seafood fan

Revel in Fremont. Great food, lots of veg and non-seafood options. And since you're big belgian beer fans, go across the street to Brouwer's afterwards.

Headed to Seattle and looking to eat!

WHAAAAAAAAAAT okay good to know that the Ballard location is open Sundays. To be perfectly honest I usually eat mine with my feet in the water at the secret beach :)

Headed to Seattle and looking to eat!

Salumi isn't open on weekends and Paseo is closed Sundays. They'll be busy on Saturdays, but a Havana Seared Scallop Sandwich (5-star heat) was always worth calling in when I lived a few blocks away in Fremont. The forecast looks pretty good for the weekend, so I would call in to the Shilshole location ahead, and pick up to go picnic at Golden Gardens. OR call the Fremont location and picnic in the Rose Garden by the Zoo.

Walrus & Carpenter doesn't take reservations, and there's usually a bit of a wait.

There's a Taylor Shellfish location right by Seattle Center (where the EMP is located). http://tayloroysterbars.com/locations...

Good BBQ in Seattle?

Not so fast... https://www.facebook.com/permalink.ph...

"Jack's BBQ will be closed for dinner this week and next , except for tonight and Roem Baur ticket holders this Saturday. Still open for lunch Tues-Sat. Need more cooks and floor staff!!!"

So I guess they've been busy, at least?

Toronado

I've been to the SF location several times when visiting friends, and the San Diego location countless times when I lived within walking distance of it. The Seattle location is definitely bigger and fancier. I didn't try the food, but our bartender was very nice and knew his beer. I got to try a few things that I haven't seen since I lived in CA, both of which were as good as I remember. I'll have to go back to try the food.

Toulouse Petit - any other restaurants a visitor should try?

It's hard to beat the view of the water at Westward. It's a lake view, not ocean though. Elliott's on the pier for Oyster Happy Hour if you're an oyster fan and can get there at 3 for a spot in the bar. Ray's has a good water view from the Cafe, but the food isn't particularly special. I do love to go for happy hour if I have a weekday afternoon off and get the manila clams, and soak up the broth with their good Columbia City bakery rolls.

Good breakfast spot in Capital Hill

You can get a pitcher of Mimosas at Lost Lake. The food is pretty good too.

Honeymoon in PNW - Vegetarians Seeking Meals / Lodging

I've hunted Chanterelles outside of Portland several times, a decent hour outside the city there are some good spots, they vary by year (I fear it might not be a great year, considering how dry we've been). But mushrooming is great fun so I'll point you to these guys and wish you luck, if you happen upon a nice fall day it's a great day trip: http://www.psms.org/index.php

For vegetarian friendly in the city, most Seattle restaurants will have at least one option. Poppy always has a vegetarian thali on the menu (get the eggplant fries while you're at it).

Weekend in Seattle - Food recs?

Yuji! I will also attest that the spam fried rice is the BEST hangover food ever. You can also get your eggs benedict made with spam. And I like the french toast. Breakfast in general is great.

Otherwise YES on the karaoke.

Breakfast near Hyatt at olive 8

On a recent trip to get breakfast at the 5 Point, they told me that their waffle iron had been retired, but I could get my fried chicken with french toast. It was awesome.

Oysters on the half shell on Whidbey Island?

I had them at Front Street Grill in Coupeville a while back. Might want to check with them to see if they're still on the menu.

Chicago Hounds Headed to Seattle

I'm not a fan of everything on that menu, but my brother and I stopped in after the Sounders/Timbers game for a midnight meal and the Idaho Trout from the woodfire grill was excellent. They have a variety of vegetarian options too.

One FINAL request for my short mini-chowmeet with Singapore Hound in July

I like Seatown, I eat lunch there when I feel like having oysters and champagne for lunch, and I don't have any afternoon meetings :)

I get cravings for their creamy oyster stew on dreary days. It can get pretty crowded on cruise ship docking/departing days, but I've never not been able to snag a seat at the bar.

Korean Pancake

The best one I've had was from Seoul Hot Pot.

They're not traditional, but the little ones they make at Revel are quite good.

Rain Shadow Meats - first experience not stellar

Their version of a french dip has meat that reminded me of a slow cooked beef short rib, and then has a horseradish sauce and melted cheese. The bread can be a bit too toasty/crunchy, so you have to give it a good dip to keep from tearing the roof of your mouth off. I liked it.

Vancouver Hound's first real trip to Seattle -- help an elf out?

Beveridge place is a huge futbol bar! Great beer selection, as well. Every bartender I know is pulling an early shift today, so I don't think there will be a shortage of places to watch.

Crabby hour at Seatown has Alaskan King & Snow, along with Dungeness.

ETA: I guess they don't have their happy hour "crabby hour" any more, but it's on their menu.

Seattle with (food-lovin') kids

You'll be right by Dahlia Bakery, and Lola where they have good quick breakfast options (fried to order donuts with vanilla mascarpone & seasonal jam! I like their bacon & egg sandwich too).

You're also close to the Westlake Trolley stop, which will take you up to South Lake Union (Center for Wooden Boats, if you're into that sort of thing). The sushi place at the end of the Trolley line (I heart Sushi) is very kid friendly, we've taken my sister's kids there many times.

Long Provincial downtown is good vietnamese. International District/Chinatown has a ton of great places and is only 3 stops down on the Light Rail.

Vancouver Hound's first real trip to Seattle -- help an elf out?

Elysian bar for good beer/amazing cocktails. Maybe try the newly opened Damn the Weather in Pioneer Square? The Octopus Bar is different/fun and a really neat space, with some local beers on tap and good house cocktails.

Also I've had good cocktails at Smith, but never tried their burger. I usually just get something to nibble on, like the radishes with salt & butter.
