Chicago Hounds Headed to Seattle

I'm not a fan of everything on that menu, but my brother and I stopped in after the Sounders/Timbers game for a midnight meal and the Idaho Trout from the woodfire grill was excellent. They have a variety of vegetarian options too.

One FINAL request for my short mini-chowmeet with Singapore Hound in July

I like Seatown, I eat lunch there when I feel like having oysters and champagne for lunch, and I don't have any afternoon meetings :)

I get cravings for their creamy oyster stew on dreary days. It can get pretty crowded on cruise ship docking/departing days, but I've never not been able to snag a seat at the bar.

Korean Pancake

The best one I've had was from Seoul Hot Pot.

They're not traditional, but the little ones they make at Revel are quite good.

Rain Shadow Meats - first experience not stellar

Their version of a french dip has meat that reminded me of a slow cooked beef short rib, and then has a horseradish sauce and melted cheese. The bread can be a bit too toasty/crunchy, so you have to give it a good dip to keep from tearing the roof of your mouth off. I liked it.

Vancouver Hound's first real trip to Seattle -- help an elf out?

Beveridge place is a huge futbol bar! Great beer selection, as well. Every bartender I know is pulling an early shift today, so I don't think there will be a shortage of places to watch.

Crabby hour at Seatown has Alaskan King & Snow, along with Dungeness.

ETA: I guess they don't have their happy hour "crabby hour" any more, but it's on their menu.

Seattle with (food-lovin') kids

You'll be right by Dahlia Bakery, and Lola where they have good quick breakfast options (fried to order donuts with vanilla mascarpone & seasonal jam! I like their bacon & egg sandwich too).

You're also close to the Westlake Trolley stop, which will take you up to South Lake Union (Center for Wooden Boats, if you're into that sort of thing). The sushi place at the end of the Trolley line (I heart Sushi) is very kid friendly, we've taken my sister's kids there many times.

Long Provincial downtown is good vietnamese. International District/Chinatown has a ton of great places and is only 3 stops down on the Light Rail.

Elysian bar for good beer/amazing cocktails. Maybe try the newly opened Damn the Weather in Pioneer Square? The Octopus Bar is different/fun and a really neat space, with some local beers on tap and good house cocktails.

Also I've had good cocktails at Smith, but never tried their burger. I usually just get something to nibble on, like the radishes with salt & butter.

Because Pho is breakfast food!

I've never waited long at the Ballard location either. I like to grab my Seared Scallop sandwich and head to Golden Gardens for a messy feast on the beach!

Kalsada Filipino Pop-Up

I haven't heard of this Filipino Pop Up before, but it's happening tonight:

http://www.foodandsh-t.com/events/

"On this month's menu you'll find Filipino street food staples: balut, fish balls, taho, mom's puto & kutsinta. Our featured item is a tribute to the OGs of Seattle street food--the taco truck--with tacos filled with a sisig-flavored choice of protein to fit whatever dietary parameters you have: pork, chicken, fish (bangus) & tofu. Also, on the menu: a "Breakfast in Hawaii" taco made from the many packs of Portuguese sausage we brought back with us from our recent trip to Hawaii."

It looks like it's right near the Beacon light rail stop.

3 days in Seattle, first time, need help to please foodie husband!

I really like breakfast at Lola. Other than that it's fine, but I wouldn't go out of my way for anything.

Elysian Bar

Their fried chicken was amazing when I went with a friend. We sat at the bar and chatted with Murray while he made us great cocktails.

Pioneer Square - Great Experience

It's a gorgeous space with good, minimalist food. Mostly small plates, but they have some larger entree selections from their wood oven. Actually, everything that I've had come out of that oven has been excellent, particularly the ribeye.

Downside is that the prices are fairly high.

Do any Sichuan restaurants use whole, good-quality peppercorns here?

All the versions I've had are fish & cabbage, but that's the description of what I've had. At Sichuanese Cuisine it's the "Sichuanese Boiled Fish" (I've only had this at the ID location because my Redmond co-workers wouldn't go for it), at 7SP it's "Boiled Fish with Hot Sauce", and at Red Lantern it's "Sichuan Boiled Fish".

I pretty much only get it when I go with our work group downtown, and we always order a boat load of dishes and eat everything family style. And I'm never the one ordering because they all speak Chinese.

I don't doubt that it could be made better. I've had it at three places in the ID, 7SP is the one we go back to. I've never been to Bamboo Garden, if I ever get to that side of the lake with someone willing to try it with me I'll have to check it out.

(being carless means I make it to the east side maybe once a year)

Serious Biscuit is good, I like the fried green tomato sammy, but FWIW I like the actual biscuits from Morsel way better. Serious can be pretty tough.

Never had a bad sandwich from Paseo but the seared scallop sandwich is tops for me (they ask you how spicy you want it and I always say 5/5, but this is not at all spicy for me. They just add pickled jalapenos, which are tasty, but not spicy).

Sho zyu yu is my absolute favorite. Seven Stars Pepper does the best version, I think.

Gluten free and/or Vegan Seattle

The empanadas at La Bodega are gluten free! And I like their beet salad.

There's a GF food truck around Westlake one day each week but I haven't tried it.

First time visit to Seattle- what to do, where to eat, and cask beer?

I could eat the prosciutto with pickled celery every day. I walked by there about 12:30 on my way to Little Uncle and there was a line out the door.
