I am desperately in search of a French bakery that makes gateau basque. I poked around but can't seem to find anyone who makes this. Anyone have any recommendations? I prefer some place on the Westside, but am open to anything west of Downtown and north of Long Beach, or the SFV.

I contacted Olympic Collection, they will not do a tasting without a contract and deposit.

Does anyone out there know of any caterers or restaurants that will do a free tasting for a wedding BEFORE giving them a deposit and/or signing a contract? I don't want to end up paying lots of money for bad food!!!!
