Despana Recommendations?

Their boquerones (white anchovies in vinegar) are on a par with what I had in Seville and are fantastic. Great with manzanilla.

Financier in the World Financial Center has it and it is good. But homemade is better. Try Julia Child's cookbook. Great recipe if you also soak the cherries in some brandy or Kirsch.

W 114th St: good eats nearby?

The block of Amsterdam between 122 and 123 (a pleasant walk from 114th) has become a restaurant row. And the restaurants range from mediocre to really good:

Max Soha and Lounge - good Italian
Sez...... (can't remember) - good Italian
Kitchenette - basic American with great bakery
Lyla's - good crepes and other things, huge menu
A new Japanese/chinese place.

Very special olive oil - what to do?

A friend gave me as a gift, a bottle of olive oil from an uncle's estate in Tuscany. It's wonderful, I've put it on risotto, but how else can I make the most of this? And how long will it last in my pantry?

I don't recall ever ordering. We said what we didn't eat and then the plates started coming. I remember some small clams and some beef. Everything was very fresh.

Good eats on Portuguese Coast?

We spent a day in Nazare and decided to return after we fell in love with this town. There are nice fish restaurants everywhere but we discovered a great one the last night after consulting the guy who sold us ice cream cones. It is at the end of the boardwalk by the tram up the cliff. I think it is called Santa Maria. After three nights of eating at other restaurants, this one had the best cockles (berberejos or something like that) and fish. You'll see lots of Portuguese families there.

Grocery delivery in Baltimore suburbs?

Is there a supermarket or grocery delivery service much like Fresh Direct in New York that caters to the Baltimore suburbs? My non-driving mother needs this.

Recs in Sherry Triangle-Jerez de la Frontera, el Puerto de Santa María, Sanlúcar de Barrameda?

I went to Sanlucar a few years ago for a flamenco workshop and remember eating incredible tapas in a rather large bar on the main plaza. There were small very sweet shrimp that were boiled and are eaten whole. There are other larger shrimp that are incredible too. I ate here several times. You can get great young manzanilla anywhere in Sanlucar as well as in the bodegas. There is a cultural center near some old ruins and nearby (sorry no specifics) is a little cafe that serves huge meatballs (albondigas). Very, very good food overall.

Seating for about 100 people
Square-shaped space
Permission for live music and dancing
$40-50 per person
Preferably Mediterranean food, served tapas-style or buffet
