The Grille At Rough Hollow has been a great addition to the Lakeway area restaurants! Their mussels are great and Wednesday is their oyster specials for happy hour. Food, service and view are great.

First time at The Grille At Rough Hollow on Sunday, September 20th after the TexArts Guild. Excellent service and food. Waitstaff was flawless. Valet service and great food! I want to go during the day, as the views have to be spectacular.

Steiner Ranch - Am I Missing Something?
Second try was much better. I still think the steaks are over seasoned. Sporadic performance between my two visits force me to not return.. III Forks is always great and a better value.

Second try with Manager's gift certificate was better. Steak was still over seasoned. However, the view and service were good. A little pricey for such sporadic performance.

I still stand by my original post. When you are in this price range, the customer should always expect great service and great food. As a customer, I am unconcerned about their staffing problems and expect better performane.

Finally went back with the gift certificates from the General Manager after a horrible first experience. Second time around, the service and food were good. The steak was still over seasoned. III Forks is still better for the price.

Steiner Ranch Steakhouse contact/comment feature on their website is shut down. No wonder with such poor service. Sat 7/25/09 experience at Steiner Ranch Steakhouse was horrible. Had to seach out wait staff for drinks on patio. Steaks were poorly done and improperly cooked and over seasoned. Poor service abounds. Waited 25 minutes for drinks after being seated and another 20 minutes to have orders taken. Not sure why they even asked how we wanted steaks cooked, because no one's steak was cooked to order. Bobby's fovorite was two bites at $42 or $21 per bite. DO NOT GO!

We had a horrible experience at Steiner Ranch Steakhouse No one's steak was cooked to order. Waited 25 minutes after being seated for drink orders and another 20 minutes for taking our order. Bobby's Favorite $42 Filet was two bites of poorly done steak! Going back to IIIForks!!
Roux
Roux has had great food every time I have been there. Both owners, Dan and Chad are committed to making the experience enjoyable. There oysters are always fresh. They have great crawfish during the season. It could be the 2-3 Hurricanes we have at the bar before dinner, but we have always enjoyed Roux.
Thoughts on Hill Country Pasta House?
We went there and it was horrible. No one in the place and the hostess sat us at the worst table in the place behind the wine rack near the kitchen pathway. After no service by anyone, we were leaving and they seated us at a better table. However, the food was horrible. We went again thinking it was an off night, we were mistaken. We were seated at the same bad table and had to request to be moved which created an attitude for our waitress. NEVER GO THERE!
