Grouchy Chef in Mukilteo closed
I walked by on my way to get sandwiches earlier this week for my sons and saw the new place was open for lunch. When I peered inside it was busy.
Due to the way the menu and "rules" were posted on the doors and windows, as well as their wording - it may be still owned and run by the Grouchy Chef.
Best Restaurant for Salmon in Pacific NW?
Why not wait to catch one for yourself? Nothing beats grilled salmon that was swimming in the ocean only a couple of hours before you eat it.
I hope you get the opportunity to catch and eat several of the different salmon species - each one is slightly different in taste and texture.
Your Favorite Bakery...
Don't get into Seattle much, but do like Macrina, Essential Baking Co. Prefer Trophy Cupcakes to Cupcake Royale.
In Snohomish County I like L'Artisan French Bakery, Shiavo's Bakery, & Pave. Henry's Donut is the place for donuts.
Want to try Bakery Nouveau but hardly every go to West Seattle.
Mexican food in Hawaii
Funny thing this comes up as I was just in Honolulu last week and had a great talk with a man originally from Southern CA (land of delicious Mexican Food) who was lamenting the dearth of good Mexican restaurants on O'ahu. So far he has found just one that he likes - a family run place on Kapahulu Ave. Of course, I can't recall the name of it! But it's closeby a Thai Restaurant and it should be easy to find. . .
As far as taco trucks - back in the 70s some friends of mine had a couple of taco trucks serving fresh, homemade tacos & burritos at Sunset Beach and Laniakea. The clientele was mostly surfers - both mainland transplants and locals.

Best Chinese Restaurant in Honolulu Chinatown?
If you are sensitive to MSG, be aware that Hawaii is a place where you will still find MSG in the food of many restaurants, so it's always a good thing to ask about. Two places popular with locals and ilocated n Mo'ili'ili which is very convenient to Waikiki are:
OnOn, located on the corner of McCully & Young Street;
Maple Garden, located on Isenberg St.
