London: finding Brunch
Thanks gang. We did end up going to Roast - on the a) coldest day ever when b) their heating didn't work! :( Not impressed at having to pay a 12.5% service charge to sit there in my coat, hat and gloves (seriously - them flower halls are cold when not heated) but...the food was good.
Did feel hurried into ordering by 11.45, but that might have just been the fact that the wait staff were hurrying around keeping warm! :) And the fish'n'chips (in a basket, natch) seemed VERY popular on the lunch menu - just in case you're lookin' for them in future.

And the reviews it got on many sites weren't particularly favourable either. I agree, the menu seems fine, but not for the prices and the apparent service/standards. Thanks though! :)
London: Malsouqa, Brick/Brik Pastry, Feuille de Brique
I'm looking for some pastry from the Maghreb region (North Africa, comprising of: Morocco, Algeria & Tunisia).
It's the pastry that is used to make the Moroccan pastille (pigeon pie) and the Tunisian Brik (with the egg), and I'm not sure what in Algeria.
It's a cross between phyllo (filo) and a crepe...so it's got a very particular texture.
I can't find anywhere online that sells it (other than amazon.com) and rather than head from one side of London to another in the weekend, I thought I'd ask first here.
Does anyone out there know SPECIFICALLY where I can purchase it from?
Does anyone out there have any SUGGESTED potential places that might sell it?
Many thanks for all your help. I'm travelling by bike, in the weekends, so can get most places...but would prefer to keep it in Zones 1-3! :)
Cheers

London: finding Brunch
Hi guys,
I'm looking for a good, ol' fashioned (er, Kiwi) brunch menu. One that doesn't stop being served just because the little hand is between the 12 and the 1!
Things on it would include:
Eggs Benedict (and Florentine, and Toronto'd etc.) (£5-7)
Big Breakfast (£8-11)
French toast with various acoutrements (£6-10)
Fruit and yoghurt w muesli for the diet conscious (£5-10)
Kedgeree (to keep it somewhat british, I guess). (£??!)
So far, the only ones I've found have been serving breakfast only. I want 'brunch' damnit, and I want a sleep in.
I'm looking for somewhere between: Marble Arch (W), Liverpool St (E), Camden (N), London Bridge (S).
Can you let me know what your favourites are...else I'm gonna have to think about opening my own damned restaurant! :)
Cheers all,
Eury
