Does anyone know where I can find yucca root?

Thanks for all your tips, you guys really are the best. I actually ended up finding at Jons in Glendale. I will definitely be checking out Figueroa produce in the future.

Does anyone know where I can find yucca root?

I live in the Los Feliz area and I need to find it for work and am not having any luck. Any pointers are appreciated.

Looking for baked bbq pork buns like Golden Gate Bakery in San Francisco

Thanks for all the suggestions! I may have to check them all out and report back.

Looking for baked bbq pork buns like Golden Gate Bakery in San Francisco

Just came back from San Francisco and had the best baked bbq pork buns ever! Good not too sweet bun with a good bun to meat ratio. Meat was good and not too fatty or gristly (and more importantly, not that nasty bright pink color). Is there anywhere in Chinatown, or the San Gabriel Valley that you would recommend? I've searched the boards and many of the recommendations are a little dated. Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Asian-style drinking vinegars

They only have the actual fruit vinegars. But they can easily be mixed into any cocktail or soda. I recently went to a Korean market and picked up a grapefruit vinegar as well as a pomegranite vinegar. The pomegranite one was poured over ice along with some gin, and then topped off with some ginger ale.

Went to PokPok this summer and fell in love. Have not found any restaurants here that do what he does. But I have found the fruit vinegars at 99 Ranch as well as Korean grocery stores. Simply fill a glass with ice, pour in about 3-4 Tbs vinegar, and top the rest off with sparkling water.

Chinese Tomato Beef w/Rice

You just made me miss my mom's cooking in such a big way. She used to also do a tomato dish with scrambled eggs that never failed please.

Plum vinegar from Taiwan?

Just came back from Portland where I had two amazing meals at Pok Pok. They had these fruit vinegar drinks made from fruit vinegars served over ice and topped off with soda. I had the plum one and was instantly transported to my childhood. It tasted just like those salted dried plums that my mom would buy me from the Chinese grocery!
The waiter said that it was made with a plum vinegar from Taiwan. Does anyone know if I can fid this at a Ranch 99 or perhaps a Japanese grocery?
