Taco Bell vegetarian and vegan options

Mine, too! I used to be surprised that they would have such a big burrito for only $1. I guess they got wise to that as well. oh well. nice while it lasted.

Taco Bell vegetarian and vegan options

You'll love this... I was in TB once, when a guy walked in and asked for tacos without the meat. I swear, the cashier didn't know what to think! She just kept staring at him and re-asking the same question: "huh?". I finally stepped in, and told her to act like she was making a regular fresco taco, but forgot the meat. She still looked at me weird, so I explained that they simply did not want to eat meat. She finally got it, and only became concerned about how much to charge. He told her to charge as if it were a regular taco, and she finally seemed satisfied. I guess we learn lessons every day!

best packaged or bottled ranch dressing? (not hidden valley!)

Ya know, it might be homemade -- literally! There are some great recipes online that tell you how to make the dry stuff up, and then you add it when you're ready. I've done so, and honestly, you can't beat it, and with no chemical taste, because there's no chemicals! HTH!

Is it possible to steam milk w/o an espresso machine?

Do you have the Magic Bullet? What I've been doing is putting milk 1/4 way up, then blending it for a total of 1 1/4 minutes. (45 seconds, then 30 seconds.) Then I put it in the microwave for about 45 seconds, just to where the milk starts to rise to the top of the cup. Pour it into coffee, and you'll get both the hot milk AND froth! I love it!
Hope this helps!

Classic Macaroni and Cheese

They're right that this is SO much better than any box. But even if you do make the box recipe instead, follo the last instructions of transferring to a baking dish, sprinkling with panko, and baking for a few minutes.
Regardless of the recipe, here's a cool trick I learned at a sampling at a local grocery store: puree cauliflower and mix it with the panko. I know, sounds horrible! But truth is, you never taste it! It's a great way to add a tiny morsel of nutrition to a "comfort food" item. :-)

Longhorn's Steakhouse Brown Bread

Jim, did you ever try out this recipe? I love the fact that this bread (from Long Horn) is whole grain, and furthermore, it truly is filling!
