What's Going On At Bon Appetit? When Will Changes Come?
I am so glad that I stumbled upon this thread, because I was wondering if I was the only one that has become bored with BA. When I saw Gwyneth Paltrow on the cover, I did a double take!! I enjoy reading the celeb q&a on the last page, but I don't want them on the cover! This is a FOOD magazine, I want gorgeous, mouth watering, inspiring food pics on the cover!
Android App for finding Non-Chain Eats [moved from Austin board]
Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to see if anyone knew of any good Android Apps that find/recommend restaurants that are not chains. Would be great for around town, but we are traveling this summer and I would love to have an app that would take the leg work out of finding good hometown eats. Thanks!

Hao Hao is a good Chinese food restaurant, they are located in the strip mall next to Saccone's. And nothing is more satisfying on a hot Texas day than a sno cone from Kaui Ice (downtown RR), they are awesome!! Welcome to Texas!
Recommendations for lunch in New Braunfels
My sister's b-day is this week, and we are going to meet in New Braunfels. Is there any place good for lunch? Excluding "German" restaurants, from Germany and no place tastes like home! :) Just looking for a nice place that is not a chain. Thanks for the help!

I have to agree that the $5 Shake at Alamo Drafthouse is pretty d'lish. Monument Cafe in Georgetown also makes a pretty killer shake.
