I would have to agree with the Sunnyvale/Santa Clara area on El Camino Rd. has really good variety & choices. My 2 favorites are Sui Tofu (homemade tofu, always changing selection of ban chan) & next door is 99 Chicken (best Korean Fried Chicken) & Hana DVD (they specialize in English subtitled Korean dramas & movies for rent). ----- Sui Tofu |

Best Mi Bo Kho (Vietnamese beef noodle stew) in the Bay Area is at Thanh Lan in San Jose! - I've been going to this place called Thanh Lan in San Jose on The corner of Lucretia & Story Rds. for a little over a year & they consistently serves the beat Mi Bo Kho ( Vietnamese beef noodle stew) around. The reason I'm even more surprised by this is because they are a small general store/ restaurant & sandwich shop too. - The broth is more rich & viscous than any other place - it gives me a "full" or "round" mouth feel to it; the tendon & the beef stew bits all practically melt in the mouth too. Its a very "heady" aroma of flavors. The noodles are pretty generic Asian egg noodle but go well with the dish though. - I've tried many other places (Phuong Thao, Pho Quyen 2 Noodle House, Pho Nam, My Khe Quan Hue to name a few) in the South Bay area but not like this - for those of you that like Halu Ramen's namesake ramen then I would highly reccomend them for the Mi Bo Kho. - I'm still searching for some place in the San Francisco though!! Any suggestions?? ----- Thanh Lan |

new ramen place in Santa Clara called Orenchi I just heard about a new ramen place in Santa Clara,CA called Orenchi, owned & operated by the people that own Sumika in Los Altos, CA. They just opened this last weekend at 3540 Homestead Rd. and Lawrence Expressway, across the street from Kaiser Medical's Santa Clara campus. Has anyone been there yet? |

Cupertino - suggestions please? Halu offers 3 choices of broths: shio, shoyu or the Halu (pork and chicken with pieces of pork fat). You ask for light fat and light salt if you like. ----- Ramen Halu - duplicate |

Do you mean Tutti Cafe & Grill, same side of El Camino about 1/2 mile down? Tutti's Cafe and Grill |

I would say 99 Chicken for fried wings and legs; Corner Place (next to 99 Chicken) for whole poached Ginseng Chicken Soup (you need to order ahead for it, as it takes at least 2 hours to prepare it ); and Tutti's Cafe & Grill (but sign says Tutti's Korean Cuisine BBQ) for their whole rotisserie or fried chicken, they are 1/2 mile west on El Camino. 99 Chicken Corner Place Korean Restaurant / Gilmok Tutti's Cafe and Grill ----- |
