Chinese in San Antonio??
After living in Houston for 8 years, the Chinese options are pretty disappointing in SA. There are several that are passible, but none would rate better than average in Houston. Pearl inn and Asia Kitchen are pretty good for San Antonio.
SoCal to Orlando roadtrip on I-10--Good Eats??
When going through San Antonio, try Tito's on South Alamo St. in the King William District. Cheap and delicious. We've introduced it to Tex-Mex lovers and out of state tenderfoots alike. No one's been disappointed. The Cilantro Cream Enchiladas are outstanding.
In Houston, try Good Company Barbeque on Kirby just south of HWY 59. My wife even likes their barbeque.

Abita Springs is off I-12 Exit 65. The Abita Brew Pub is above average, but you can also buy Abita Beer in gallon jugs. Makes a nice gift. Also see the UCM Museum while you are there. It's a lot of fun and a real bargain
Muffs
I agree. Nor-Joes are the best. I didn't get up to 270 pounds by eating bad food.
Best Place to buy King Cake??
Haydel's in Harahan is excellent. On the Northshore, you can get great cakes at Marguerites (my spelling might be wrong) in Slidell on Gause Blvd, or the Mandeville Bake Shop in Mandeville. All of the one's on this thread are top notch.
