Brunch in Westchester or Fairfield County I know there are some older brunch posts, but I thought I'd update the question. |

Good service, good breakfast and even occasional celeb sightings :) |

which spices in Dunkin Donuts hash browns? I am pretty sure it's some type of MSG or what are they labeling it as these days autolyzed yeast or something like that. I had one of my daughters the other day and the initial flavor was good, but it was so ridiculously salty I seriously couldn't drink enough water to slake my thirst. I happen to like salt too so go figure. |

Zanero's in White Plains is closed Why Buffalo Wild Wings? If that quote of 40K a month in rent is true they would have to sell a ton of wings and beer. I have never been to one, I've heard they are great for going to watch sports as they have ginormous TVs but I wouldn't eat there. Sad, its such a great space. |

I love Porter House for a casual but not too causal lunch. Best turkey burger I've ever had plus a menu filled with good salads, sandwiches, plus the usual pub food as well. Service is friendly and the food usually comes out pretty fast. ----- |

Graduation dinner in Port Chester/Rye/Harrison? The last time I went to Imperial Wok with my husband for lunch it was horrible. The service was super slow and the food was just plain bad. We ordered tempura veggies that were so greasy and yet at the same time way undercooked. Maybe their fryer temps were off? The other items we ordered were also far under par. Also the rooms are in great need of repair. I was staring at black mold on the wall while dining. It's sad because it is very local for us and we really want to support it, but we haven't been back yet. ----- |

Graduation dinner in Port Chester/Rye/Harrison? The menu is quite different. Not sure if they updated their menu on the site yet. You should go and take a look, it looks really cool inside but if you were a fan of the old format and style, it may not be for you. The food and the service are still very good. |

OMG they did not have that the last time I was there! I have to have it asap. Was is super sweet like desserty or was there enough of a savory aspect to it with the truffle and goat cheese flavors? |

The place may have fallen off the map in CH world, but every time I've been there the place is still packed. I am sure you have great places to eat up in your neck of the woods jfood, I'd say to give the place another try but why bother? |

Various Veracruzes in Vestchester I have not, but I believe they are. |

Various Veracruzes in Vestchester I have a friend/coworker from Veracruz, Mexico who swears by the Veracruz in Mamaroneck and says they serve the food from her home area. Granted she always knows exactly what to order and in the native tongue, but I have eaten with her from there and been equally psyched. |

I used to be a huge fan of Lusardi's too until I got a major case (first and last in my life) here. ----- |

I have used Cornerstone a couple of times. They are quite good. They do beautiful crudite platters with a couple of different dips. I remember one mushroom dip being unique and delicious. I've also bought their grilled chicken breasts and pasta salads. The chicken with accompanied sauces were very good but the pasta salad I felt I could have made better myself. They are also very well organized, clean, and good communicators...factors which are just as important as the food when considering a caterer. |

Help - in White Plains this Sat... We found Emma's to be far below par. Food was bad to just ok. The rooms are very cramped. I actually got elbowed in the head by a bus boy who was clearing a table next to ours. The highlight was my daughter's mac n' cheese which she didn't like but I thought was pretty good. |

Al fresco dining Darien/Stamford? I second 1020 for the wine, top notch food and quieter patio setting. Right next door is Ole Mole which also has outdoor seating. |

They do do some of their own baking, but I know they also get some of their baked goods from outside bakeries. I have been going to June and Ho since 1994 and absolutely love them. They used to have a salad bar which I ate from almost everyday for at least a year and I totally miss that. But they do still offer some of my faves from said sb.: beet salad, lentil salad, corn salad, sesame noodles, to name a few. They also make a great Nicoise salad. Wow, I really said the word salad a lot. Their soups and sandwiches are also good and their produce is immaculate albeit super pricey. Sample and enjoy! |

Food was decent., but the place is way too dark and the music was fist pumping style and loud! (and I'm not even an older curmudgeoney person) was way too clublike for me. |

Ruby's in Rye has half priced bottles of wine and champagne for Sunday brunch till 3 I think. |
|

No BUENO budinado. I have to admit the last time I had food from there I was also disappointed. But I thought since I had had good experiences there before and that I had taken food to go, that possibly the bad food was an anomaly. |

I happen to totally agree with you CT. I just stopped in there yesterday for the first time in quite a while and was so happy I did. They are officially the only bagels in my part of the tri-state area that I will waste my carbs on. My kids are huge fans as well. Bagel Power used to be great like 15-20 years ago, but the last time I had experiences there, they just plain sucked, as did the customer service. |

New Rochelle Deli corner of Weaver and Quaker Ridge Are you talking about the place that is at the fruit and vegetable store/nursery. That place is mad expensive and not that impressive imho. |

Suggestions In or Near Rye, NY Ruby's or Morgans in Rye. |

Romantic Inn with Great Restaurant - any recs.? I have stayed at and enjoyed fully both the Boulders in New Preston Ct. and the Emerson Inn and Spa in or near mt trempor ny. They both offer spa services and have very good restaurants, service and beautiful room options. We stayed at the Boulders in a free standing cottage that has a fireplace, private terrace, and great bathroom with jacuzzi that fits (at least) 2 :) |

Molly Spillane (sp?) Mamaroneck I just drove by it this morning too. It looks very pretty with iron work faux balconies on the second floor. I agree that it looked very pub-like. A nice addition to that part of the avenue and hey, they are probably not another place serving Asian fusion food. |
|
|
I believe it was still called Bagel Power. We moved to the area in 1980 and always went there for bagels and amazing rugalech (sp?) around the high holy days. |

Definitely add my vote to Lazy Boy for their beer selection. The food isn't very good though. Across the street Porter House has very good food and I've heard that the fish and chips at James Joyce (same side as LB) are very authentic Irish-ey and delicious. |

Is it possible you had the truffle oil chips? they do smell a little strange but taste amazing~ |

Tarry Lodge is great, but early or late (I've been there for both) it's quite busy and loud. Same goes for Ruby's. Both are 2 of my favorites with great food and good service, but they are both "scenes". I would recommend Morgans (ask for a banquette table by the kitchen) the food is amazing and unfortunately underrated which is why it is on the quieter side. |

Inexpensive dinner Lower Westchester I'm looking to go out tomorrow night on the cheap. ( Less than 25 per person ) |

wow that was a weird open-close-reopen situation. and it caused such a ruckus on here. wonder what happened. hmmmm |
