Are there any great CASUAL ITALIAN restaurants in Shanghai

I agree with Supernatural and urbanomad about Pane e Vino. Pane e Vino is not crazy expensive. Check out some pictures I took while I was there - http://www.thethirstypig.com/2011/03/...

Also, the original De Marco's is quite good, as well.
1/F, Golden Bridge Garden, 103 Dong Zhu'anbang Lu, near Jiangsu Lu, Shanghai

Shanghai; Why no Chowhound Meets?

I would also like to attend in the future, please add my email thirstypig at gmail dot com.

Also, I write a little blog about some of the places I eat at - lately & mostly in Shanghai - www.thethirstypig.com

New recommendations for Shanghai dining

Great list and good threads. . since I just moved here 6 months ago. . I will have to try some of these places, soon.

Where should my boss eat dinner on New Year's Eve in Shanghai?

For western food and for a super cool and hip place. . .i would suggest M1NT - http://www.m1ntglobal.com/

Din Tai Fung - top ten in the world?!

Regardless when NYT made the review . . . DTF has arguably the best Xiao Long Bao's. I've been to the DTF in Los Angeles, Shanghai, and both locations in Taipei. They vary slightly, but all produce really good XLB's and Chicken Soup.

But price-wise, DTF, in my humble opinion, is over-priced. I found Jiajia Tang Bao, in Shanghai, to be quite good and much cheaper as well. Nanxiang, in Yuyuan Garden in Shanghai, looked soggy and unappealing. Crystal Jade's, in Shanghai, was good as well - but what Hot Chocolate said, was too thick.

I have a few pictures and a couple of posts http://www.thethirstypig.com/

Best Mac and Cheese - LA

I love mac and cheese, too. . .. Anytime I see it on the menu i will order it - most of the time its a side dish. . .i know in NYC they have these all Mac N Cheese Restaurants - S'Mac - http://www.smacnyc.com/. I know LA has Paddy Mac - http://www.eatpaddymac.com/

I do like Ketchup's Mac N Cheese. I have had Kate Mantilini's Mac N Cheese - if I remember correctly with Broccoli. Grub's and Nook's Mac N Cheese is quite good, too. But probably, off the top of my head, I like Roscoe's as one of my favorites.

Best Southern California Farmers' Market

Which Farmers' Market is the best? Which one has the best selection of fruits, vegetables, etc? Which one has the best parking and access?

I'd say the Santa Monica one is pretty good.

Looking for Tuna Steak Sandwich

I was wondering if anyone knew of a place in Southern California that makes a Tuna Steak Sandwich or Ahi Tuna.

I once had a great Tuna Steak Sandwich in Hong Kong a few years ago. . . You could say that I've had a bit of a craving.

Thanks
