Espresso for Wedding
I just checked Mission Coffee Roasting's site, and it looks like their rate is $600 for the first two hours.
Our caterer will be serving Peets drip coffee after the meal, so it's not that we won't have coffee at all. I also want to make espresso drinks available to our guests (and to me) before the early-morning ceremony because it would be something fun and I love capuccinos.
In terms of budget, we don't have an exact number. However, we're trying to keep the wedding costs down as much as possible and $675 is more than my fiance and I are willing to spend. (Even for great service, skills, beans, and a fabulous machine, which is what I know we would be getting with Blue Bottle or someone similar.)
Espresso for Wedding
I used coffeegeek.com when I was researching to buy my own machine. That's a great idea, and definitely worth a try. (Not surprisingly, posting on Craigslist has gotten some pretty hilarious responses -- including a death band rocker with a name that only a parent could love.)
I would have my brother pull the shots since he's a huge coffee geek, but I want him to be able to enjoy the wedding. :)
Espresso for Wedding
I'm looking for a barista to make espresso drinks this June at my Sunday morning wedding in Berkeley. There will be about 100 guests, not all of whom are coffee drinkers.
I've checked with Blue Bottle and a few of the larger companies and they've either been out of my price range, or haven't returned my calls. (Blue Bottle quoted me $675 for 80 drinks over 2 hours, which is more than our budget allows.)
Does anyone have any ideas where to look? Any suggestions are appreciated -- please email me at wedding@heathertownsend.net.
Thanks!
