Best entree salad in Northern Virginia My favorite entree salad is the grilled shrimp salad at Sea Pearl in Falls Church (Gallows Road). Second is the Thai filet tip salad at Sea Pearl. The Great American Restaurant group makes great salads. Try Sweetwater or Coastal Flats in the area you requested. |

Looking for inspiration for green beans This is one of my favorite ways to make green beans - so so so good! http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/in... |

Tonight we made a beef broth, veggie and meatball soup with ciabatta garlic bread. It hit the spot! |

I quartered some large green olives and blistered them in olive oil with a hefty amount of crushed red pepper. I added about four cups of my homemade marinara sauce, simmered for 30 minutes and served over whole wheat linguine. Fresh parmesan on top. Spicy comfort food at its finest. |

Hungarian goulash has been simmering since 3pm. I will serve the goulash with homemade spaetzle tossed in a bit of butter and parsley. |

Potato soup topped with cheddar, chives and bacon. It completely hit the spot. |

Giada's Chicken Tettrazini is delicious! I also enjoy this Giada dish. I use less pasta (I like it saucier) and have added Italian sausage to take it a little further. You can also use any combo of vegetables you choose - http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/gi... Enjoy! |

I, too, have a cold. I made lemon chicken soup and spinach and melted fontina cheese bruschetta. Very comforting. |

I made this a couple of years ago and remember it being very good. Maybe you can compare recipes, or even use this one instead - |

Cooking for the season's first snow day All of your meals sound comforting and divine. I was craving something stewy and starchy, so guiness beef stew over mashed potatoes it is. Stay warm and safe everyone! |

Help! My friend just had a baby and I want to bring her lunch. What do I bring? Your friend will appreciate anything you do. I love the quiche/frittata idea. I also love the idea of a mediterranean spread, a greek salad with some pita, hummus, olives, etc. I ALSO like the soup idea, think tomato soup and ingredients for grilled cheese sandwiches? Another idea that came to mind is some pulled pork/chicken, rolls, pasta salad. A friend brought us enchiladas after our summer baby was born and they were a big hit. For dessert a seasonal fruit crisp and some vanilla ice cream would also be great. |

What's For Dinner? Part 90 [old] We are going to put a few mojo marinated chickens in the smoker, cumin-lime coleslaw and green chili cheddar corn muffins. Blueberry crisp for dessert. |

NOVA Winery - Fall Brunch/ Afternoon Wine Tasting for Group I would call the vineyards/wineries. How many people? I have been to fabbioli and didn't see seating for a "group," but I am sure they can guarantee that. I know tarara has quite a bit of land, but I didn't look for seating for a group when I was there. Tarara does host weddings, it has private spaces/rooms (?) and will put up a tent on their land. I recently visited Hillsborough in Purcellville(www.hillsboroughwine.com). This vineyard had enough seating inside and out to host a larger group on one of their patios or inside area. Good luck! I am eager to hear where you end up having the shower. |
