Good Mexican resto in Temecula?

You might want to try posting on the California board for better results.

FWIW, I've been to The Bank, and it's been pretty good (get the carnitas). It's been a few years though.

L.A. Dish of the Month, May 2015 -- Curry

Katsu Curry sandwich at Mr. Katsu (with curry potato puffs, of course). The curry had nice spice, and there was plenty of it, yet it didn't overpower the sandwich. Very well balanced. This place has yet to disappoint.

Jagerhaus: True Love

I haven't. How does it compare with Phoenix Club? My experiences at Loreley (Phoenix Club) were years ago. We were usually invited by friends. I always thought it was good, but not great. I've only been to Jagerhaus a few times, and it hasn't been on my radar screen. Thanks for putting it back on there.

Nott usually a wait at the bar, and my experience is that the wait for a table is 20 minutes or less if you get there by 11:00-11:15.

Jagerhaus: True Love

It's on the menu on their website. You used to be able to call ahead for it.

I'll have to try those. I've had their tacos (cabeza, al pastor, etc.) and tried their tamales during the holidays. I agree. These guys are legit.

What's your top 5 favorite places for lunch in OC?

We're neighbors! I've been in Placentia for about 15 years.

Tried Oasis last week. Really good stuff. I'll be back. D Vine is also really good, although more expensive. You're right, options are more limited than further south. It makes me miss working in Irvine. There are some good options up here if you look for them. Others I'm enjoying up here:

Olive Pit
On the Hook
El Pueblito
Tacos San Pedro
Mr. Katsu
Stefano's
PK Burgers
Bruxie
Molcasalsa
Rae G Cafe
El Farolito
El Taco Sabroso
Rubalcava's

Gonna have to get a katsu curry sandwich at Mr. Katsu for DotM.

I never did get try Vishnu, and now my office is in Brea *sigh*. I'll have to figure out a way to get in there. My Fiance and I are trying to carve out a kid-less night to (finally) get in to Taco Maria.

Jagerhaus: True Love

It's been way too long since I've been. I've and loved the schweine haxe (their sauerkraut is good, too) at Phoenix Club across the street, and the Jagerhaus version is on my short list.

Ramen Zetton
Ritter's Steam Kettle Cooking
Santouka Ramen
Houston's

This is from their Facebook page. It should give you a better idea on pricing.

Yeah, I didn't know if they would do the trick for the OP or not.

You said that they are the best item on the menu, and that's not saying much. Have you had bad experiences there? I've been twice and it's been great both times. The second trip was right after I proposed to my fiance, so my mind may have been elsewhere, but my experience there has been great.

Understood. My Mick's recommendation stands. I will also add a +1 for Fatburger, though you'll have to drive to Buena Park to enjoy them. I also agree that, while Red Robin has them (all you can eat, no less), they are unremarkable.

Bosscat Kitchen and Libations has wedge-cut fries. I haven't had them, but everything else I've had there has been great.

Happy hunting.

Mick's Karma Bar in Irvine has them (at least they did last time I was there)... and really great burgers, too.

I've been there several times. My fiancé and I have been a few times, and it's one of our favorite places in the area. Both the food and the service have been top notch. The times we've been there, we've started at Shuck for a dozen and wine first. It's been a little while since I've been, so pricing specifics escape me right now. It's not inexpensive, but it didn't break the bank. It's more than worth the price to me. Sorry I can't help more.

L.A. Dish of the Month, March 2015 -- SEAFOOD SANDWICHES

My friend said that they got a pound each of the snow crab and shrimp, drinks, and food for the kids for about $60. He said that they would definitely be going back soon.

I haven't tried it yet, but I'd like to. A friend went last night and said it was good. I can't remember what the pricing is, but I'm pretty sure it's on their website.

Shrimp po'boy at On the Hook in Brea. Shrimp were cooked perfectly and well seasoned. The remoulade was also really good. I think that the sandwich could have used a little more shrimp for the size of the roll, but I would definitely get it again.

BIG THANKS TO NOSH FOR MANAGING 'DISH OF THE MONTH'

Absolutely. It's a thankless job (well, up until now). Very nice work and many thanks!

Fullerton, CA.. save me from Disney!

Thanks!

Great call on Sabroso. I haven't had good luck at Tlaquepaque, but I haven't been lately. I like El Farolito (not Jr.), but I haven't been in awhile and can't speak to much on their menu except for the carnitas. Pie Dog is on my list, but I haven't tried it; it sounds great. Bizarra Capital has been on my list for some time. My friends say it's awesome.

I will probably be going to Super Juicy Dumplings for the first time next week. I will report back if I end up going. Any must orders, JRSD?
