2013 Food and Restaurant OPENINGS A place called Serious Sandwiches is opening on Eglinton, 50 yards west of Yonge (North side). |

Toscanini's and Otto's absolutely added for my next visit... whenever that might happen to be :) |

I did not try the buttercrunch so I am sure you're spot on there, gourmaniac. Ohlin's was ok don't get me wrong. Just for my taste, I preferred Linda's. But to each our own. Ohlin's was still a quality shop for sure. Their abundant assortment was really beautiful to look at. Pizza in Toronto is fairly sad. Getting better mind you, but not where it should be. Some great spots, but overall I look forward to my US runs as I know I will be getting good pizza. |

Pleasure! |

Hey, to each their own. I loved it the one time I went. |

Hey prima! Yeah, I didn't realize the wait at Neptune was that crazy. Oh well, next time I'll be prepared for that. It won't slip away then ;) Love Boston. |
Yes, Stupid = Good! I really hope to get to Neptune one day :-( Thanks kobuta... and thanks ALL for your suggestions. As usual Chowhound comes through! ps. And kobuta, Mul's Diner was a CH rec. |

Oh yes, and it might sound weird but I brought home lots of groceries and products I can't find in Canada. I loved Shaw's hot dogs buns that they sell in their bakery section. Odd, I know, but they were fantastic! |

Weight Watchers Foodies - Let the Sun Shine in Edition - May 2013 [old] Thanks for the tip! Quite good! We don't have these in Canada so I picked up a pack when in the States last week. Very nice! I felt they were best plain. Ketchup and mustard seemed to mask the dog's flavour. For me at least. Going to have to pick up several packs when next in the U.S. Thanks. |

Visit #2. Long post – sorry! Before I start, I tried to do Neptune Oyster, but it was a 2.5 hour wait! I would have waited but I was with people and they did not want to wait. I was SO upset. My group decided to just eat across the street as we were time-pressed. Neptune is such a beautiful little place too. Food on the tables looked great. Sigh…… …So we ended up at Goody Glover’s instead. I rolled my eyes. I didn’t come all the way to Boston for pub grub. But majority ruled and I was pleasantly surprised! Burger and fresh cut fries were not bad at all, I thought. Peel and eat shrimp and cocktail sauce quite tasty too. Nice patio and view of downtown on a sunny day. Was pleasantly surprised! Also, Lulu Sweets next door to Neptune had AMAZING smelling and looking cupcakes. I couldn’t eat any as I had to draw the line somewhere. But man oh man did it look great. Smelled like a cupcake shop should smell like, whereas I find most others don’t. If they are still around if ever I return to Boston I hope to go! Cutty’s: 8 Mul’s Diner: 9.5 (Best meal of trip) Belle Isle Seafood: 9 Linda’s Donuts: 9.5 Not Your Average Joes: 9 (I know, I know, a chain…) Regina Pizzeria (Thacher location – the original location??): 8.5 |

best take-out sandwiches to take on the train? :) |
best take-out sandwiches to take on the train? Zara's Tandoori Chicken Roll, it's fantastic at room temp. Can be purchased at Kitchen Table in Atrium on Bay (on Yonge line but requires a quick stop at Dundas station - but no need to go out outside, Kitchen Table just a 20 second walk from subway platform). It is tandoori seasoned chicken wrapped in a kathi/roti type skin. With accompanying sauce. $6. Or $3 if close to "sell by" date. Delish. Portable, locally made, perfect for a train ride. Find in the deli meat fridge case. Also at other Kitchen Tables, including Forest Hill Village store. |

Porcetta & Co - so good it should be banned! No argument here. |

NEW Best Pizza in Toronto Thread Both it will be then, kwass! Good call. |

NEW Best Pizza in Toronto Thread I can never stray from the pizza, but Bitondo's is real well known for their panzerotti. Gotta try that one day. I think I can count the number of panzerottis I've had in my lifetime on one hand. I guess I love pizza too much to stray :) |

Pizza place in First Canadian Place Toronto I know there's a Piazza Manna in Commerce Court under CIBC, across from the Druxy's. At least it was there the last time I checked, a few months ago. Also a Piazza Manna underneath the Sheraton hotel in the PATH. They're in lotsa places downtown.... |
NEW Best Pizza in Toronto Thread I couldn't really say. It's been like 10 years since I had Olympic '76. I remember it being good, but it was soooo long ago. Keep on meaning to return. Always seems off my to-do radar I guess. Also, I've yet to try Vesuvio's. Bitondos I love love love. |
NEW Best Pizza in Toronto Thread Is Olympic '76 still kicking around? They're on the Yonge line, and they were silver tray old school last time I was there (AAAGGGGGGGES ago). |
Is there a Mamma's location you've had good luck with? |
I really like Pizzaville. I find they vary by location. Yonge/Sheppard and Yonge/Steeles locations are really good! Yonge/Fairlawn not too bad, but I've seemed to have better zas from those first two locations. Still, not bad. |

" Live BC Wild Spot Prawns " Chowmeet at the Emperor - A quick review I'm interested :) At Emperor? |

It's pretty brutal on a Friday in rush hour, I've done it then. I'd say in the 2 hours range.... |

Craft Dogs - 95 King Street East Who knows.... but that does seem a little low. That's about the weight of one cow. |
Craft Dogs - 95 King Street East Less than 400kg a year? That seems awfully low to me. This info seems tough to believe. |

Toronto Hound in Chicago- 1ST TIME! Bongo Room in Wicker Park was heaven. One of my best meals in Chicago last fall. Also good for breakfast was Meli Juice Bar and Cafe. Tried lots of pizza but my favourite was Lou Malnatti's in Lincolnwood (the orginal location I later found out?). My fave burger was at Paradise Pup. They also had a great tamale and I REALLY enjoyed their Italian beef. |
