Cafeteria 15L is very good with a varied comfort food menu, and it is not a cafeteria. It is a full service restaurant.
Medical treatment at UC Davis next week - any good restaurants nearby?
Most UC Davis medical treatments are done at the huge hospital complex on Stockton St. in Sacramento; you might want to check where your test will be performed.
New to Sacramento, confused by reports on Mexican & Vietnamese.
I like the bahn mi sandwiches at Lee's Sandwiches on Power Inn. You can eat inside or drive through the drive-in window and get your sandwiches to take home.

I can highly recommend Tazzina Bistro. They have a website, and you can see their offerings which are delicious.

Looking for a New breakfast spot in Sac
I recommend The Tower on Broadway and 16th. They have decadent French toast. I, personally, eat the huevos rancheros every time I go there. Their menu is online.

I agree. I have eaten at St. Pauli Inn many times and really enjoy the weiner schnitzel with white gravy and the German potatoes. It always makes two meals for me because I have so much left over.

I second Hawksrestaurant.com in Granite Bay, to the east of Roseville in the Quarry Ponds center on Douglas.

Bistro 33 is a good place for casual meals and features a variety of food. It is located off Latrobe on the street leading up to the movie theaters. Breakfast survey in Sacramento?
I really enjoy the huevos rancheros at Tower Cafe. They have an excellent tomato salsa covering the eggs which are set atop a bean-filled tortilla; browned red potatoes are served on the platter. It is a dish not to be missed by those people who love a savory breakfast.
I am searching for a place that serves chilaquiles for breakfast or for any other time of day.
Folsom Bistro
This new restaurant has a very experienced chef and a competent staff; they all work to provide the finest of bistro food. The restaurant is new and is located on the Folsom Auburn Road in the Pavilions, just north of the gasoline station. They are open six days a week for lunch and dinner. Because the chef had worked with Philippe Jeanty, we called ahead and ordered cassoulet, one of Jeanty's specialties. One of us selected duck confit which is on the daily appetizer menu for both lunch and dinner and should not be missed because of its meltingly smooth texture.

Sutter Creek Cafe--advice?
I can't think of a cafe in Sutter Creek with that name. A good cafe in town is Chatterbox where most of the items are made from scratch. Service can be slow because such care is taken with the food.
mexican restaurants in Sacramento...Carmelita's
I have been to Carmelitas since it was refurbished, and I couldn't even finish my order and did not want it packed to go. I really like Colina de Oro in Plymouth, CA; it sure isn't a pretty place, but the food is pleasing. Having moved up here from the Los Angeles area, I tend to make comparisons of Mexican restaurants and should not do so because we had the greatest in East LA and elsewhere in town.

Amador Vintage Market is still open from 10:00 to 6:00 Sundays through Thursdays, and across the street is the relatively new restaurant Taste which you can research through www.restauranttaste.com. It has been favorably reviewed by many.

Celebrating Mom's 80th in Rancho Cordova
Although the restaurant I want to recommend, Slocum House, is in Fair Oaks, CA, Fair Oaks is on the northern border of Rancho Cordova. Slocum House is, definitely, a special place for a celebration.
