Taam China Newton

This place suffers from the same idiocy as most kosher restaurants. "You'll eat it, like it, and put up with bad service and rude help because we're kosher and we know you'll come back."
If you decide to take out from this place, open and check every container before you leave. They'll insist they gave you the right food, when they routinely screw up what they put in.

Lin's Kosher Chinese

It is run by the same people. He started in Manville and expanded. I always enjoy their food (we've been going for years)! When my sister comes in from Michigan to visit my parents in Edison, they always pick up from there.

NYC STEAK

The tasting menu was, simply, the best meal I ever had. They ask you in the beginning if there's anything in particular you don't like or really want - we asked for no beets, and for the gnocchi, and they accommodated us on both. The whole meal was really quite amazing. We ordered a bottle of wine instead of doing a wine tasting with it.

If you want to go to Brooklyn, El Gaucho in Boro Park was also great. I enjoyed it more than Abigails, but less than Prime Grill (though those both were also great!)

Marsala wine?

I lived in Philly for four years, I'm familiar! I used to go to Cherry Hill to the ShopRight kosher experience, which had lots of stuff.

Marsala wine?

Depending on how much you need, it's also available in a smaller bottle, sold in most places that have a decent selection of kosher items.

ISO anything close to Best's Kosher Deli Franks

I emailed A&H recently; they said the Butcherie on Harvard Ave. carries their full line of products.

Kosher restaurants and food in Montreal

For meat, those who keep Halal will not eat animals with canine teeth, as opposed to the split hooves/cud chewing that Kosher requires. The rules for slaughter are also very different. Kosher fulfills all the requirement for Halal, but not the other way around.

Kosher at New Yankee Stadium and Citi Field

They are A&H. The sausage was great. And Go Mets!

Kosher cold cuts/hot dogs?

I've enjoyed both A&H and Neshama. Both are available from various websites for shipping, but the shipping is often as much again as the food! I think you would be better off trying to get a local establishment to stock them instead.

Kosher at New Yankee Stadium and Citi Field

I've been to Citi Field. There are at least two kosher stands - I went to the one by section 528. They have a hot dog for (I think 4.25), a pastrami dog for 6.25, and a sausage with peppers and onions for 7.25. I had the sausage and liked it a lot. They also had soft pretzels there which were pricey (I think 6.00) and were out of knishes - I don't remember how much they were. They also had beer, soda and bottled water for the usual overpriced ballpark prices. I was there on a brutally hot Sunday, and the line moved pretty fast, but I don't think the park was completely packed. Hope that helps!

kosher supermarket

Although it certainly doesn't have everything, I find the Fairway supermarkets to be pretty good. I've been to the ones on 125th st., the low 70s, and the one in Red Hook. Decent selection of kosher meat and chicken, though the prices aren't as good as Boro Park.

Upper West Side (Lower) Refined Place For Date

If you have to stay in the UWS, I would recommend Darna on Columbus and about 87th. If you can head further south, Abigails (Broadway and about 47th, I think) would also be very nice, but a little pricier.

Kosher 'sausage'

Hi all,
I found on a previous post on this site a place in LA called Jeff's Gourmet that has several interesting sausages, including smoked chicken apple and chicken cilantro, among others. Anybody know of places in Brooklyn, Manhatten, even the 5 Towns, that has something like this? (We keep a strictly kosher home, so while I know this board isn't about what is kosher, we need a reliable hechsher).

Thanks all!

Kosher orange liqueur

Hi all,
Can anyone recommend a brand of kosher orange liqueur (a kosher grand marnier). And also perhaps a place in Brooklyn or all of NYC to purchase it? Thanks all!

Best kosher restaurant

How about Mike's Bistro on the UWS? Went there and did the tasting menu. Definitely pricey, but it was the best meal I've ever had. Close second would be Prime Grill.
