L.A Food Truck Phenomenon: Any Recs?
Kimchi Kurobuta pork belly fries from Frysmith, I have such a hankering for it!
L.A Food Truck Phenomenon: Any Recs?
I agree with Chuck and thought that Kogi was mehh...the only thing I liked from their truck was the kimchi quesadilla. The tacos and hotdog was not my thing.
I had the chance to try Frysmith & Buttermilk truck last night at the Brigg.
The buttermilk truck is good, but not spectacular. I thought that the buttermilk pancake bites was cute, a novelty and good for late night snacks. I tried the red velvet with chocolate chips pancake bites. Then I also tried the fried chicken and cinnamon waffles which was okay, i like the waffles by itself but not with the fried chicken.
I'm in love with Frysmith! Man oh man their Kimchi fries with pork belly, Rajas fries with steak is really really SPECTACULAR! The fries are frites style and it was salty, crunchy, delicious! I also tried their hot chocolate with home made marshmallows which is really comforting in the cold weather. Rich and dark hot chocolate! I can't wait to go back. I want to try their chili chocolate cookies next time and the soda pairings. www.eatfrysmith.com

I find the recent boom of L.A gourmet food trucks to be exciting! Any recommendations of what you've tried out there? I've tried the big 2 : Kogi truck & Marked 5. I prefer and like Marked 5 better than Kogi. I'm curious about Lomo Arigato's saltado, Frysmith's Kimchi fries with pork belly, and the grilled cheese truck, and other ones out there. Please share your experience!
Thanks!!
Favorite Chilli in L.A....Recs?
What's your favorite chili joint in L.A? what's special about them? any recommendations?
Anyone ever eaten at Joy Mart in Little Tokyo?
Yes, I've been there a few times. One of my favorite hang out joints at Lil Tokyo. I like going there cause they sell beer by the pitcher--reasonably priced, good appetizer, good japanese fusion food and korean esque dishes. My favorite dish there is the tobanyaki...it's baked green tea soba noodles and it's served with beef on top, soba sauce.
The prices there aren't pricy in my opinion...it's like curry house prices.
Best Cajun/Creole???
I happened to like Mardi Gras, Toluca Lake.
Although I haven't been there for a year or so now.
HELP! Need recommendation for Korean restaurant--not just Korean bbq
I need recommendation for a Korean restaurant around Korea town that serves a variety of things like Korean bbq, soon tofu, and the spicy squid, or kimchi fried rice that are affordable and overall tasty of course.
I wanted to try So Kong Dong cause I am a fan of soon tofu but I'm not sure if they serve the spicy squid or the korean bbq?
Thanks for your help & input!
pupusas in highland park/ pasadena area
I decided to check out La Caravana tonight and boyyy it was good! I was very, very pleased and full. We had the mini pupusas plate and they were NOT minis at all. We had 9 different pupusas piled in a plate and they were about the size of a medium pancake. The pupusas were freshly made and still hot. The cabbage is nice and crunchy unlike other places I've been where it's rather wilted, these ones go hand in hand with the pupusas. Highly recommend this place!

Sunday Tea in Pasadena
I like Tea Rose alot....it's not the same as Rose Tree Cottage.
I've been going there for years because it's close by, it's cute and I really like their tea selection & finger sandwiches. I usually get their English Tea set menu. They have different kinds and they are about $20/ set menu.
