What's up with (kosher) burgers, N.Y. and L.A. Any knowledge of where the 2nd one is gonna be? |
Thanks. I was just in Gelson's Century City and saw some other Rudi's products but no buns, so picked up some sourdough rolls instead. Any idea why Ralph's and Von's don't sell? |

Do any regular supermarkets sell kosher hot dog and/or hamburger buns? |

Trader Joe's Kosher Specialties? They have these sweet and spicy walnuts that I love to put in salads. Some of the Trader Joe's Indian Fare have hashgacha's, although I don't recognize the symbol. Maybe someone on the board does? |

Shabbat and Aufruf in Washington DC Here's a list of caterers (and other food options) for the area: In addition to Kesher Israel mentioned above, Ohev Shalom is orthodox and has a mechitza. Its further from downtown and too far to walk to the major sites but hotels might be cheaper. I think they have an in-house caterer, but not sure. |

Virginia Wine Country goes Kosher "...the winery added two kosher wines to its portfolio, both of which were made under the supervision of the Orthodox Union. The winery just released the first of these wines, a Riesling; the second wine, a Noiret (a red native-American/European hybrid grape created at Cornell University) will be released before Rosh HaShanah." |

A new restaurant at the DC JCC is supposed to open soon, so that might be an option for you. There's also Maoz. |

Seeking recs for Ft. Lauderdale and Hollywood area. A mixture of cheap (e.g. pizza, burgers, Israeli) and more upscale. How's Cine Citta Caffe for more upscale? I really enjoyed the one in Paris, can anyone compare them? I saw on shamash the Schakolad Chocolate Factory. Does anyone know if they have tours or something that would be good for kids? |

Best Kosher Pizza in South Florida Shamash lists Sarah's Tent - Supermarket and Pizza in Aventura and Sara's Dairy Restaurant in Hollwood, which one are you referring to? Any other votes? |

I figured since the OP asked about Maoz's hashgacha (which is vegetarian), then (s)he would require a hecksher. For vegetarian options I'd recommend posting on the D.C. board. |
Not a big fan of Eli's but it and Maoz are the only restaurants downtown. There are also a couple of places where you can get prepared sandwiches http://wrap2go.com/locations.htm, but I'd recommend making your own. |
From downtown it would be about 30-45 minutes in non-rush hour. Maybe an hour in rush hour. On route from NJ it would add about 30 minutes. However, you could spend a day doing activities in that direction and go there for dinner. Its en route to Frederick, MD and (off the top of my head) there's some civil war history and Camp David around there. |
I think it has the same hashgacha as the one in NYC. Its on M St. b/w 18th and 19th, around the corner from Eli's. Eli's also has a schwarma/falafel stand right next door to the restaurant. For seating there's only a bench outside, but Dupont Circle is only two blocks. Of course eating outside would be weather dependent. |

For non-pizza dairy not too far out of the way, I think the only other option would be Goldberg's Bagels. As I posted earlier, I think the Baltimore Goldberg's is much better. |
I'll second the Kosher Pastry Oven. If it's lunch or breakfast, try the malawach. The dinner menu varies, but I've always left satisfied. If you prefer Baltimore, I'd recommend Goldberg's (much better than the D.C. area versions). |

Jeff's Gourmet Sausage Factory by Thi Schwarma / falafel from Max's just outside D.C. Check the D.C. board for more info. Best middle eastern I've had period, kosher or non-kosher. In any case, both Max's and the Jeff's force a level of awareness where I think to myself while in the act of eating that "this is a special experience". Wrapped between some bread is the same kind of zen moment generally reserved for things like watching an all-time great athlete in their prime or interacting with an Einstein-like mind. Your appreciation for the moment requires no hindsight nor effort, simply existence because it comes to you. There just are no words better to describe the moment than "a special experience". |

Jeff's Gourmet Sausage Factory by Thi They had it as a special maybe 3-4 weeks ago. I signed up for twitter just so I can be updated when they have it again. As I was eating it I called my brother and told him I was eating the second best kosher sandwich I'd ever had. ----- |

What Subways are left nationally that are Kosher still? Rockville, MD (inside the JCC) |

Les Ailes is in the 9th, not particularly close to Marais. In general I think the 9th has a lot more kosher food than Marais, but alas no eponymous NYC steakhouse. I had a fantastic meal at Cine Citta Cafe near the Champs Elysses. |
what places in paris can you prepay for shabbat meals? There's a kosher Best Western in the 9th district, near Metro Cadet. (I didn't stay or eat there but the I met the owner and seemed like a nice guy). Also in the 9th is Les Ailes which I ate at Friday night. I had the couscous. Pretty good, but pricey. |

I think Delice Bistro has closed except for private events. The bakery/cafe remains open. |

Yummy Kosher & To-Go in LA? please help! Have you looked into Real Food Daily? It's a vegan restaurant in West Hollywood. In addition to other considerations (e.g. the food might be too substantial), you'd want to check with the kosher eaters that they're ok with the kosher supervision (Rabbi Bukspan). |
Haven't tasted much from their menu. I didn't like the corned beef sanwhich. |
I love the pastrami sandwich at Pico Kosher Deli. I don't know the taco truck's hours but the tacos are ok plus you get a very L.A. experience. Fish Grill at the beach in Malibu is a nice option, lunch or dinner. Nothing fancy but pretty good and at the beach in Malibu. It's a shame Smokin' closed. The ribs were fantastic. It's the only place I've been to in the valley (twice). |

Restaurants with Sukkahs in Los Angeles Fish Grill at Pico and Beverwil, SushiKO, Elat Burger, Metro Glatt, the pizza place next to metro glatt, and Nana also have. |

The DCJCC cafe is currently closed. Still is tourist season so might want to make a reservation for Eli's. Went for dinner a couple of weeks ago on a weeknight and had to wait about 20 minutes for a table, It had been about a year since I'd last gone and I thought the food had significantly improved. I got a pastrami sandwich and chili. The only complaint was about grilled chicken breast, they thought it was dry (I tasted it and agree). Eli's also has a falafel/schwarma hole in the wall next door to the restaurant. It's ok, nothing special. Depending on how you feel about its kashrus, Maoz might also be an option. It's on M St. between 18th and 19th in Dupont. |
It moved to Pico and Roxbury. Not sure what the schedule is (someone should suggest twitter or facebook to them). I went on a Saturday night about a month ago. Fine tacos, nothing special but it's a nice option, cheap, and something different. |

please help! can i have a normal honeymoon? The French Riviera has a number of kosher restaurants. It's been 3 years but I remember enjoying a nice dinner at Chez Arthur in Nice. March will probably be a little too cold to go into the water, but it's a beautiful area, the water is incredibly blue, some amazing beaches, nearby skiing might still be possible, Monaco (I think there's a kosher restaurant but I didn't get a chance to eat there), boating, museums, etc. |

Trader Joe's: Terrenal (Four Buck Feivel) Wine is back!! Which TJ's? |

I recently went to several Trader Joe's and they told me they no longer carry Terrenal. |
