Has Jack's Grill improved with the new ownership and Chef?
I think that Jack's Grill has deteriorated since the ownership has changed. Not only has the menu increased in price, but the food has become boring and the staff rude.
I went there for dinner on my birthday a little while ago and when we asked for our bills to be separated the waiter flipped out. He proceeded to go back into the kitchen where we could all hear him perfectly well and start angrily swearing. He never came back out, so we payed our bills with another server and left.
Rosemary and Bananas?
I am trying to make a dessert in a menu, using classical french items with a twist.
I was wondering if I made a rosemary vanilla parfait, would it go well with the classic Bananas Foster in replacement of ice-cream?
Unexpected Vegetarian
All your suggestions were helpful, my mind was drawing a blank.
Just a standard vegetarian so they were fine with the dairy. I substituted the ribs for a stuffed red bell pepper that I filled with a mixture of Basmati rice, diced roasted yellow peppers; which I roasted off in the oven and then tossed with a little balsamic. It was really tasty :) Thanks again for the input
Unexpected Vegetarian
I have this dinner planned out for tommorow and everthing for it bought, but an unexpected vegetarian showed up and I don't know what I can replace the meat for that will go with the rest of the meal. I'm starting with an apple salad with white cheddar fritters, then as a main I have a puree of beets flavoured with cream and rasberry vin, potato gratan and braised short ribs with a jus reduction. What could I replace for the short ribs?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)
