blueberry taiyaki, bberry tofu, bberry imagawayaki

can be found at the west l.a. buddhist temple tomorrow between 3 pm - 9 pm.

never had blueberry kind before. still could taste the anko but blueberry taste definitely there. dont know how they make it.

tried the taiyaki and imagawayaki. taste the same. both the same price. but you wont have to wait as long if you get the imagawayaki.

didnt try the blueberry tofu though.

(chinese) name for taiwanese sausages ala sinbala

hi,

can anyone provide me with a name for the taiwanese sausages just like the ones sold at sinbala? bonus for just the characters. and extra extra points for the pinyin.

so the answer should be such that if i were to try to find these sausages in taiwan or in another u.s. state (like n.y.) i could say or write the name and people will have an EXACT idea of what i am seeking and help me get the goods.

thanks in advance!! this will really help me!!

Delicious Japanese Tempura Specialist: Komatsu [Review] w/ Pics!

the umeboshi was interesting. they deseeded it and placed the paste around something before dipping it in batter and deep frying. it went by so quickly. never figured out what it was. maybe it was a potato? a chestnut?

as for the satsuma-imo, they bake that sucker to order. takes about 40 minutes. and then they dip in batter and deep fry. what made it esp delicious was the nice caramelized edge that developed during the deep fry. def better than just sliced satsuma imo.

Jaht Jook (or "juk")?

its called healthy zone 52 jook hyang

3177 w olympic blvd
los angeles, ca 90006

and their business card has two telephone numbers and no fax. (maybe one of these is actually a fax? dont know)

213 487 5002
213 383 5252

go. they have a nice selection of juk to choose from. it has been more than a year since ive gone. but i distinctly remember being impressed by one of their weirder juks. it was served in a piece of bambo, oh about 5 inches tall, 4 inches in diameter... maybe? im recalling from memory. was it juk? maybe it was medicinal rice. that sounds more plausible than serving juk in bamboo. ooh. maybe it was bamboo rice. hmmmm.

i do remember being impressed but i never went back after my first visit... i should go back to find that bamboo thingy again... hope thats still there!

Jaht Jook (or "juk")?

theres like some place that specializes in juk on olympic. i think its east of western ave. i went there once and liked it enough... its kind of unfair to mention it since i cant recall the name, but next time i go to ktown i will make it a point to look up the name and address. maybe this friday...?

Starbucks in Los Angeles (or SFV or OC) that are 24 hours?

This is a specific request to find out if there are any 24 hours Starbucks in Los Angeles or L.A. metro area...

I know you can call each and every Starbucks out there since they do not publish open and close times, but I thought this board might be faster.

Thanks much in advance

Date with Korean girl: K-Town - Where should I go?

i would never steer people wrong with my recs. the other places i mentioned above are also really good. its just that most non koreans dont know about them!

Date with Korean girl: K-Town - Where should I go?

if youre thinking on the level of an izakaya, then youre thinking casual enough for places like

guimok and l.a. omogari. honey pig too except that it can get loud there. none of these are upscale places like yongsusan and none of them will set you back as much as a place like the sleek chosun galbi. they are all down to earth places with great food that most korean people will love. places id take my parents out to when they make the trip down to l.a. and want to see how the ktown here compares to the bay area.

for street food go to ddosoon ee or koos grill. both have slightly different versions of hoddeok. icekiss is also a good spot but its more icy stuff, not necessarily street food.
