15 east - suffering any downturn ?

I have a reservation for Saturday to 15 east but I'm getting negative vibe from some recent reviews I've read. Do I have to look elsewhere for a sushi omaksase for Saturday 7PM ?

Looking for dining spots in Munich

Hi
Traveling in May to Munich for a few days. I'm looking for non-traditional places mainly within walking distance drom altstadt/stachus areas but can travel a few tram stops as well.
I'm trying to keep budget for starter+main at no more than 50 euro a head for dinner.
Thanks in advance to all repliers.

Love Strip House, looking for something new. Suggestions?

Liza
From all those names I prefer BLT prime. American cut received some good words lately but I haven't been there yet.

L'Artusi vs. Dell'Anima vs. I sodi

Hi
Looking for a lively Italian place around village area and i came up with those 3 candidates out of which i've been only to L'artusi and liked it. One of us doesn't eat pork and shellfish and prefer red meat over fish so we prefer a place that has some meat on its menu or on its usual specials.
what would you choose with budget fits those kind of places or any other good place recommended ? Thanks in advance.

Late January itinerary

Thanks a lot Gordon
I'll probably try LV for Italian and go for Minetta as I've been to Craft before (and loved it).
As for hiend Asian - I'll look into your recs
And as for breakfast we are in town only for 3 weekdays and we need just a coffee and bagel place - no fancy breakfast guys we are.

Late January itinerary

I looked at Costata's menu and I don't see much of a difference between a regular steakhouse menu (Oysters,Caviar, meat etc.) beside some pasta dishes. I mentioned Minetta tavern for an option as I wanted a non-steakhouse place (food, decor and people ...)

Late January itinerary

Hi
For Italian - I've actually been to L'artusi 2 months ago and liked it very much so I think of going again (liked Perla as well beside the very crowded seating there). So if you know of any Italian with the same profile as these 2 places, preferably not too far from Trump Soho hotel.
I will look at Crostata and RBBT,
thanks so far

1) L'artusi or locanda verde for Italian.
2) Hakkasan for hiend Asian (any other rec for hiend Asian ?)
3) Minetta tavern for non-steakhouse meat (or Craft?)

Also - any recs on breakfast/coffee place near the Trump Soho (west soho) ?
Thanks in advance to all repliers.

Asian food near Lincoln center tomorrow night

Hi
I will appreciate your recs for an Asian food place within walking distance from Lincoln center which welcome diners around 10:30pm.
I thought about Nobu57 and Blue ribbon on 58th st. (They don't take reservations btw?). It doesn't have to be sushi those are just examples.
Thanks to all repliers.

Help pick 2 Italian places

I think I'm gonna go with Perla again and try maialino over LV.
I've been to Babbo 3 times in the past few years and I'm not saying it is not a good place but each time wasn't as good as the previous one. Bar pitti looks nice but I'm looking for something a bit more festive.
Thanks to all helpful comments.

Help pick 2 Italian places

Hi
I'm looking for 2 Italian places for my week visit next month. I'm into good food with a non formal ambience.
My candidates so far are :
Perla
Locanda Verde
Maialino

I've been to perla last year and liked it very much so I know what to expect there. Will the food check be materially similar in maialino and LV or one of them is pricier than the other ?
Looking for your takes on those 3 or maybe another rec.
Thanks in advance to all repliers.

Your take on my dining itinerary

Thanks so far.
Mission chinese food - well I prefer an extra mile on the decor side...
Japanese - we prefer mostly sushi
I have been to Babbo 3 times before and each time was less enjoyable that the former. I'm trying something new.
Momo ssam bar - I'm dying to try but it will be too exotic to some of us..
I didn't consider Indochine but i'll research a little bit on the place.

Your take on my dining itinerary

Hi

I'm travelling with some clients of mine next month to NYC and I need places for dinner for 4 nights. We love good food but need relaxed casual places. All places mentioned below fit our budget so you will get the idea.

1) Japanese - Neta this time. I have been to most of the good places but never been to Neta.
2) Meat (but no steakhouse please) - Collichio & sons or Minetta Tavern (I had a great meal last time at Craft so maybe collichio ?)
3) Italian - Maialino or Locanda Verde (last time had a great meal at Perla although the place seating is on the less comfortable side...)
4) Asian fusion - this is a tough one. Two of us adore asian fusion (myself less...) so either Cherry, spice Market or Zengo but feel free to bring some other ideas to the table.

Thanks in advance to all opinions and recs.

Good steak but not in a steakhouse

Hi all

I'm looking for a good restaurant that serves also a decent steak(one of us is a carnivor) but not a traditional steakhouse. I've been to Craft in my last NYC visit and it was very good but i'm looking for a new experience. Budget can reach $100 a head.
Thanks in advance to all repliers.

One liner reviews of our last week in the city

Hi all

I'm not a big reviewer but still I wanna share my quick opinion on the places we visited during the last week so -

Raymi (Peruvian) - very nice place and quite good food (manily ceviches) accompanied by very good piscos.

Perla - excellent Italian with very friendly and attentive service.

Strip House - blah... Place looks and feels like a cemetery. Steak was just ok but this place need a good makeover in all areas including the tired service.

Morimoto - very nice meal with great cocktails and good service. Not a signature sushi place but a good and fun place.

Craft - very nice meal and impeccable service. The duck entree was perfect but the quail first course was a little bit like roasted chicken.

Lunch at Tocqueville - very good deal at $29. I was very surprised that the place was almost empty though.

Help me pick a steakhouse

Thanks Rizzobert
I've been to quality meats some 3 years ago and though the meat was good, we felt like being rushed to finish our meal all the time so I don't recall it as a pleasant evening.
I'm actually going with a gut feeling towards strip house this time.

It seems that Wolfgang wins over strip house in a close call.
BTW - how is porter house in time Warner building ? I've been there some 5 years back and it pretty good and vibrant ?

Help me pick a steakhouse

Need assistance in picking a steakhouse for 5 coworkers coming to NYC next week.
I don't like the old school places with the grumpy overaged waiters that rush you all the time like Lugers (although steak is great) and wollensky.
I've been several time to BLT prime, liked it but I think it's down the hill.
So - any good place with modern decor, good meat and service ?

Thanks to all repliers.

Italian for 5 in October

Looking for an Italian place for 5 - dinner early October.
Thought about Perla or Maialino. Some of us don't have seafood and some don't have pork. According to menus on websites I saw that Maialino tends more towards beef/fish Primi and seems it will suit us better.
I'll appreciate your thoughts and recs on 1 of those or another. Budget around $80-$100 a head.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks to all repliers so far.
we are a group of 5. Some of us lack the passion for innovative cuisine so I think that koy-ya, Ma peche and momofuku ssam are not for all of us.
I choose morimoto because we had a great experience there 2 years ago. I will probably go with esat 15 for sushi. Sgordon - I've been to Babbo 5 times over the last 8 years or so and last year they seemed tired to me so I've decided to try some new Italian.

Hi all

we are group of office colleagues travelling early October to Manhattan. Just for dinners I though of:

Craft for new american/steaks
morimoto for asian fusion
perilla for new american (or noMad)
maialino (or perla ) for italian
15 east for japanese
Ushiwakamaru for traditional sushi

I'll appreciate your thoughts and recs.

Thanks in advance to all repliers
