I just started working in Murray Hill (Park & 26) and am looking for some good lunch spots to grab noodles; ramen, soba, cold/hot, it doesn't matter. Just want something tastey, moderately priced and in the area.

Anybody have any suggestions on a good place to take intro level cooking classes in Santa Monica or Venice area? Not looking for anything too complicated, just something that is fun and will teach me the basics. I figure it's about time I learn.

My mom is coming into town tonight and I'd like to take her to a nice hole in the wall restaurant. Something many others wouldn't know about. She used to take us to these eclectic places growing up, and I'd like to return the favor. Since she's flying in around 8, somewhere near LAX would be great, especially up in the Santa Monica area. Any cuisine is good.

I'm interested in knowing some good restaurants for a business dinner. Price isn't too much of an issue (hooray for expense accounts). What does matter is that it's not too far from the 405, and somewhere around Wilshire. I'm relatively new to the area and not sure what's around there. If anything.

Not too particular on the type of food servered, although steaks and seafood always seems to be a safe bet. I'm more concerned with finding a place that's lively, but not too loud that we can't talk shop.
