Babbo Reservations ... Help!

I have always found it near impossible to get through on the phone lines, so went and made my reservation in person. That is my suggestion.

Creative Tuna Salads

This was a recipe I found years ago on Weight Watchers website and I love it.....

2 4-ounce cans of tuna (solid white, water packed)
2 Cups canned cannelloni beans (drained and rinsed)
1⁄4 Cup White Wine Vinegar
1 Tbsp. Italian Seasoning Blend (Salt-free, if possible)
1 Tbsp. Chopped Sage
2 Tsp. Extra-virgin Olive Oil

Drain tuna and beans. Combine all ingredients together in a bowl and serve over greens

Vegetarian Restaurants

Looking for recommendations for a vegetarian restaurant to take a client out to (so something nice with good food and good atmosphere). Haven't been to any of these, but here is what I have come up with:

Pure Food and Wine
Gobo
Radha
Candle 79

Any thoughts / suggestions? Thanks.

Christmas Cookies-- recommendations

This weekend I made oatmeal heath cookies (so good), shortbread cookies (in the shape of stars), bon bon cookies (with hersey kisses inside and chocolate frosting) and crescent cookies. And, plan to make peanut butter cookies at some point this week.

Cookie Tins - Where to buy?

Thanks for the info. I will check IKEA since I haven't seen a dollar store near me in NYC.

Cookie Tins - Where to buy?

Looking for some empty cookie tins that I can fill with homemade cookies to give as a gift. Where can one find these? I searched online and couldn't really find any empty tins.

Jury Duty, Tribeca

FYI - Kitchenette moved from West Broadway to Chambers (right around the corner from the previous location).

bad produce from peapod.com

This happens with the travel.....I have had the same issue with both Fresh Direct and Food Emporium. Just contact them and they will either replace the items or issue you a credit; whatever is easiest for you.

Recs for Bday Dinner (8-10 People) - Downtown

Know this is a common post and I have looked at some of the other posts and noted some ideas. To clarify, definitely looking for something downtown....preferable LES, West Village, Meat Packing areas, as they may be the most fun for our group to grab some drinks afterwards.

Recs for Bday Dinner (8-10 People) - Downtown

Looking for restaurant recommendations for my husband's birthday. Will probably have a group of 8-10 people on a Saturday evening. Looking for good food (no specific type) and a good scene...preferably something in an area that would be fun to grab drinks afterwards (LES, West Village, Meat Packing). Here are the restaurants that I am considering at this point:

Spice Market - hear they have a fixed price menu for parties over 8 (which is not appealing to me)
Goblin Market
Budakan
Tasting Room
Boqueria
SKT
Cafe Cluny
Freeman's
Stanton Social
Spotted Pig

Any thoughts on the above or any other good options would be appreciated. Thanks.

Boqueria, new tapas restaurant in the Flatiron District?

Was considering Boqueria for a birthday dinner for my husband.....would this be a good place to take a group of 10 or so people for dinner / drinks.

UWS Dinner Recs for the Wed before Thanksgiving

Thank you for the recommendations. I will check them out. Actually, I was thinking a place like Carmines (although not amazing food) would be perfect for this group with the young kids with short attention spans.....just didn't know if there was one in that area.

UWS Dinner Recs for the Wed before Thanksgiving

We have family coming into town to check out the balloon inflation event on the Upper West Side the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Could anyone recommend a casual, family restaurant for 6 adults and 4 kids (under the age of 6). Thanks.

Steak Tartare

I don't eat meat, so I can't personally comment. But friends had it at Employees Only and I thought it looked interesting.....they liked it.

Waldorf Astoria area?

Maybe the Cafe at St. Bart's. I have only been there when the weather ws nice and we ate outside, but I thought it was a cute place that may fit your needs.

There is a Houston's close (maybe 53rd / 54th and 3rd) that would probably work out too....it is actually a nice chain with good food and they had some light music in the bar the last time I was there, which was nice.

Lunch Recs near Central Park Zoo (baby friendly)

Have a friend visiting this weekend and we were looking for recommendations for a lunch spot near central park zoo that would be suitable to take a baby. Not preference on cuisine, but my friend is not too adventurous. Thanks.

Buddakan for a birthday dinner?

I think that is doable....we went last month and loved it. There were 4 of us and we ate and drank a ton and the bill was about $400 or so. We had 5 appetizers, 4 entrees, 3 sides, 2 desserts, 4 coffees, bottle of sake and drinks.....a little excessive, but fun. It is a family style / sharing type of place, so you can get a bunch of appetizers and several entrees to share....prices were very reasonable (I thought).

Buddakan

I have only been once, but thought it was great....for seating, I would request to be at a single table in the large room at the bottom of the staircase, the one with the long table (hopefully this makes sense). We had lots of appetizers and main dishes....ones that stand out are edamame dumplings (we got 2 orders, they were great), miso cod entree and the fried rice as a side.

craft or buddakan for b-day celebration

Went to Buddakkan last Friday and loved it....the food was great and pretty reasonably priced and the place is really interesting (huge compared to the one in Philly).

Alternatives to good quick Tribeca sandwich other than COLUMBINE!

Sandwiches at the Amish Market are pretty good too.

Brooklyn Brunch / Lunch Recommendations

Superfine and Front Street both look great - thanks for the recommendations.

Brooklyn Brunch / Lunch Recommendations

Brooklyn - just over the bridge (or in that area).

Brooklyn Brunch / Lunch Recommendations

Planning to take a walk over the Brooklyn Bridge this weekend and was hoping to grab brunch relatively close to the bridge area......any recommendations? Thanks.

Now working at 51st and Lex - what's around?

Fresco on the go (52 or 53 between Park and Madison)
Hale & Hearty (54th & Lex)
Chop't (52nd and Lex)

Cafe St. Barts on E. 50th

I went for lunch recently and I thought it was great.....the food was decent, but the atmosphere (sitting out under the umbrellas in great weather) was perfect.

Seeking Good Eats Near 52nd & Park.

I work in the area and enjoy Chop't, Fresco on the Go (expensive, but so good) and Hale & Hearty......there is a ton of stuff on the Lexington and 3rd Avenue areas....not much on Park. Oh, and the Cafe at St. Bart's is nice.

Dinner near Knitting Factory

I recommend Bread Tribeca. I can't remember exactly where the Knitting Factory is, but I believe Bread Tribeca is pretty close.

Favorite Tribeca Area Takeout

New to the area and am curious what people's favorite takeout places are in the Tribeca area. Thanks.

Tribeca Area Restaurants - Good for Toddler's

Any suggestions on restaurants within the tribeca and close surrounding areas that would be good for a couple with two young kids. My thoughts were Bubby's, Yaffa's, Edwards and maybe Gigino's. Any other thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Recommendations for Athens, Santorini and Crete

I have read many of the posts on this board to prepare for a trip to Crete, Santorini and Athens in about two weeks. I read some great reviews of restaurants in Santorini and Athens and am ready to try them out. However, there weren't many reviews for Crete. Can anyone recommend some restaurants? I know Crete is a very large island and we are staying at a resort in Elounda, which is somewhat isolated, but any recommendations would be appreciated.
