Thor Espresso Bar - anyone been?
was there a few days ago, can tell the staff really cares. translates well to yummy drinks :]
The Burger's Priest - Queen and Coxwell
Tried this place the other day, it's one of the best burgers i've had in Toronto.
Now the part where i mention small things that would only CH would care about:
The fries, definitely edible and not bad at all except they were a little bit chewy/tough. Would prefer them a bit crispier outside and fluffy middle.
The cheeseburger, pretty much close to perfect. The size is perfect i'm glad they aren't "North American" sized burgers. The meat is clearly super fresh. Didn't taste any seasoning in the meat but thats not a problem.
coffee break caterer?
i hate to say it because i'd rather support local coffee shops except with that many people your best/easiest option is probably to give the nearest starbucks a call and they fill a few big thermoses full of coffee and give you cups/cream etc
Coffee bean Q's....
for the Black Cat espresso blend try Manic Coffee (426 College St). also there's a pretty good local roaster super close to Hamilton. Detour Coffee Roasters (41B King St W, Dundas, ON)
La Boheme at yonge and eglinton
2481 Yonge Street
tried to add a placemark but i failed :D
La Boheme at yonge and eglinton
They're a new cafe patisserie. I tried the chocolate croissant the other day and it was good stuff. The owner is the same dude from Jules on Mt. Pleasant and their coffee is from the Te Aro guys in Leslieville.
Bonus: Jedd's Frozen Custard under construction across the street :)
Flat White coffee just like in Australia & New Zealand
my guess is the peeps at Te Aro know about flat whites, the owners are from NZ
Good organic cafes in Toronto, up along Yonge Street? (or elsewhere even)
just the standard starbucks/secondcup/tim's along your map route.
some good local cafes here http://bit.ly/crWJOV
Best Espresso in the city...

Quince-Give the cooks a spoon [Moved from Ontario]
there are probably very few restaurants on the entire planet running how you think all restaurants run. by this i mean completely spotless kitchen, all cooks with extremely high cleanliness and standards, wait staff that will never mess with customer food under any condition etc.
Buddha Pie - anyone been??
i want to check this place out :o
it seems like terroni and libretto quality pizza without the hype
Simple Bistro, Mountpleasant
ended up going last weekend for brunch, it was pretty good.
simple bistro has a kind of relaxed, down to earth vibe.
i had the eggs bene w/ salmon :)
Looking for Stumptown in Toronto

thoughts on this place for brunch?
might try it this weekend
Best Coffee in the West End
The Communal Mule - 984 Dundas St W
Sam James Coffee Bar - 297 Harbord St
Crema Coffee Company - 3079 Dundas St W
Terroni- disappointing experience
Recently went to terroni on Adelaide. The 20min wait was no problem, we sat at the wine/espresso bar in the front lobby. We were then seated in the back patio and had a friendly, efficient server. I think this Terroni location is more about the atmosphere / buzz than anything else. If you're idea of a great experience includes deep conversation, it might be too loud (DJ booth in lobby + high volume).
Post Bar/Late Night Eats
the homeburgers (not the regular burgers) are a decent sized, his pic just makes it look small
Best Espresso in the city...
You sound like you prefer more traditional style espresso bars with a more relaxed atmosphere. My suggestions for you would be to try these places:
Zaza Espresso Bar - 75 Yorkville Ave
Bisogno Espresso Bar - 61 Sherbourne St.
B Espresso Bar - 111 Queen St. E.
Caffe Latte - 2409 Yonge St.
report back if you try any :)
so bad...yet so good...
ok i tried this the other day at bayview and eglinton location, they put lettuce/tomato/mayo/bigmac sauce and didnt charge anything :o
Terroni.. not up to snuff
im still surprised people come on here so frequently and complain about how their dinner experience was ruined because terroni would not allow substitutions. isn't this common knowledge by now with all the chowhound posts about it? and i think it even says on their menu no subs.
Fresh and Wild - Bayview
yep overpriced, dont see them lasting long. went in one morning there were about 10 employees stocking/cleaning and the place was empty
Best Roadside Farmer's Market
