Then why is it people pay $22 for pasta that you can also make home for 75 cents? Sometimes when you have a great meal, and it's under $20, it's worth it!!

Should I order "well done" at Santarpios and Regina?

I always order my pizza well done at Gran Gusto. I don't like a soggy crust.

Should I order the cheese Pizza "well done" at Santarpios or Regina? Or is it already "well done" like at Picco?

what are your 10 favorite cheap(less that $10) breakfast, lunch, dinner and "4th meal/snack" places

I don't think you can beat Porter Exchange for great meals under $10. Cafe Mami and Sapporo Ramen are unbeatable in quality and price.

Best dishes only in Summer?

Now that summer is here, what are some of the best dishes you've had that you can only get in the summer?

I remember having a fantastic peach/goat cheese/wasabi salad at Market couple of years ago, but they no longer serve it.

Strip T's increasing funkiness

Yes, I too really like the Octopus, but I too find the size too small especially for $12. This is not the South End afterall. The other items prices are reasonable for now, hopefully they don't keep on creeping up the prices and start charging Toro prices.

Seven star street bistro, any updates?

Any news about Seven Star Street Bistro? Sounds like it has potential with the chefs story sounding similar to Strip Ts.

Del Frisco's must trys? [moved from Boston board]

Actually the duck I had there is the best duck I have had in Boston. The duck is well priced and big enough for two!

It's official: Berryline utterly superior to Pinkberry

I agree! I have been raving about Berryline for years and have been telling my New York friends that we have better frozen yogurt then them.

Berryline is better then Pinkberry and Red Mango.

Finally we have all three to compare!

Neptune Oyster- Dissappointed..what to order?

No I did not dip the oyster in the sauces. When I was at Island Creek, I added some of their sauce and the oysters were incredibly sweet. I'm wondering if it was because of their sauce. The ones I had at Neptune were inferior, but perhaps it was an off batch.

I will try some the other recommended dishes and report back.

Thanks Hounders!

Neptune Oyster- Dissappointed..what to order?

Was just at Neptune Oyster and left disappointed.

Had the Wellsfleet and Island Creek Oysters. Good, but I feel Island Creek Oyster Bar in Kenmore has better Oysters. Maybe the dipping sauce they use at Island Creek Oyster Bar makes the Oysters taste better?

Neptunes on Piggyback.- Great dish!! Perfectly fried Oysters, fresh bright greens and pork shoulder compliment the dish nicely.

Lobster Spaghettini- Underwhelmed. Pasta in not even homemade! Sauce taste like basic garlic, tomato wine sauce. Has lots of lobster, but the lobster was overcooked and not sweet. This dish is OK, but no better then the Giacomo's lobster linguini version, and Giacomo's is twice the size.

Everyone was raving about the Lobster Spaghettini on Chowhound, Did I miss something?

I want to give this place another shot.

What should I order next time?

Sabatino truffles on Newbury! Anyone been?

Sabatinos on Newbury Street now carry Truffles and Truffle oil/spreads etc. Supposedly they supply Truffles to Jean Georges and Per Se.

Anyone go to the store? How much and how good are the Truffles?

Bread used on the Chez Henri Cubano...

What is your recipe for the Cubano if I may ask? Perhaps you need to butter up the bread and press with a grill.

Bergamot - Nice Place, But not quite up to the level of Ravings I've Read

Craigie has 4 courses for $40 on Sunday nights. Ten Tables has 3 courses for $33 or 4 course for $40! How would you compare Bergamont with these two at these prices?

Bon Chon Chicken- Disgusting!!

I don't mind casual restaurants and actually like restaurants with a hip vibe. They way they dress at Coppa is relaxed with jeans and plaid shirts, but they look cool to me. The lighting was just weird, like the lighting you get in a cafeteria, or a in hole in the wall in Chinatown.

I was seriously going to complain about the chicken, but it took over 30 minutes to make, and I didn't want to wait another 30 minutes for them to fix it. We had appetizers earlier which were almost equally as bad so i figured perhaps their food is just not good.

I was really looking forward to eating some good fried chicken from reading some reviews and I was SO disappointed.

Perhaps it was just a New Year off day for them?
Anyone else have experiences at the new Bon Chon?

Bon Chon Chicken- Disgusting!!

Went to Bon Chon Chicken in Allston last night and it was easily the worst meal I've had in years. The new Bon Chon is where Toki use to be located.

First of all it took 30 min for the chicken to arrive and I was expecting the famous Bon Chon fried chicken. It turned out to be the worst chicken I have ever had. The crust was thick and overfried, the chicken was bone dry and tasteless. The chicken tasted days old and fried days ago. We only ate maybe 7 pieces out of the the 30 on the plate.

The place felt unprofessional and looks like it's run by students. "Sushi" chefs are wearing baseball hats in a crooked manner and the crew was wearing ragged t shirts. They have korean hip hop music running in the background and the lighting felt weird.

They need to make some serious changes starting with the food or they will go out of business in a few months.

Why did the old Toki leave?

Island Creek Oyster Bar- must eats besides oysters?

Everyone seems to rave that the oysters here are great. How about the other dishes?

Any "must try" entrees or appetizers?

How do they compare to B and G or Neptune? Again, not talking about the oysters.

Thanks!

Seafood at Hmart? Fresh?

I've seen live fish in the tank in Chinatown, and supposedly that's what they use for my dinner, but somehow it doesn't neccesarily taste "fresh" or the best. Why is that? Like you said, I thought fish out of the tank can't get any fresher..

Seafood at Hmart? Fresh?

Prices on fish at Hmart scare me because it's so cheap. How is the quality and freshness of these fish? Probably not the same quality as Whole Foods right?
