My god, there's so many, it's hard to even start narrowing it down. So far in 2007, I ate at Sweatman's BBQ in SC - let me put it this way, I got an e-mail that night from a friend who'd just had a baby; I replied with photos of the BBQ. (Which is now my avatar.)

My "Go-to" dinner party dish:
Flourless Chocolate Cake, from The Best Recipe. Three ingredients (which you can buy at a convenience store if needed), about an hour start-to-finish, actually tastes better the next day, and is ridiculously rich and impressive.
My favorite comfort food:
Totally depends. I came back from Switzerland craving pho, and from China craving steak.
My most tattered cookbooks:
Used to be The Best Recipe, but now it's Bittman's How To Cook Everything. Not to follow the recipes so much, but as a great source of guidelines & ideas.
